Good prices for single kits, and definately a good price on the tool.

I go through WayTekWire.com.... here's the big difference
The link you provided is $1.75 for the kit... waytek sells the Female housing for (and these are all rounded to the nearest full cent) $.30, Male housing for $.51, seal for $.07, and the terminals for $.12. So in theory a kit would cost $1.19. The kicker is the minumum on orders is 10. So while it's cheaper for me to go through Waytek, when are you going to use 9 more of those connectors? Good find hades.

Through Napa?

I have that tool, but found that after wiring for an entire day that the racheting crimper for 2.5x the price, is definately worth it, again, for me, becuase I do ALOT of wiring

I checked every parts store in Denton - Orielly's, Pep Boys, Napa, Auto Zone, Car Quest and THE DEALERSHIP. It was like I was talking to retarded monkey's.

can't wait for it to show up. and my back cover to my replica M2 box.

I think I'll be picking up a crimping tool (Daniels af8) and hopefully sourcing a cannon plug with the appropriate gage and number of ports for my ECU install. We'll see what happens.

hey TTT, what is the gage size on your cannon plugs? Are they 20 or 16?

TitaniumTT 11-08-2010 04:38 PM

20. Tefzel will carry 7A and the pins are rated for that. I'm using some hermetically sealed connectors on my fuel cell that are 16ga Tefzel (13A) and they're doubled up for the fuel pumps with Viton heatshrink. There is really no reason to have any wire in an engine harness over 16-18 ga, I don't care what anyone says.

Got my connectors and tools in. FYI. The company I bougt from is small. Their communication is so so. But I did get it on time and everything us in the box.

I played around / practiced and got the fan switched wired up. Then I got a call to drink beer. Decided that wiring drunk would be a bad idea

TitaniumTT 11-15-2010 09:41 AM

It is..... Wiring while tired is a bad idea also....

Whoever offers the tool should also offer the dies. The dies are probably going to be specific to the tool.

FWIW, I'm not a fan of the die set tools. I'd rather just get a complete crimper.

hades 11-15-2010 07:53 PM

the only thing I don't like about these connectors is that they are kinda long. Wish they were a bit more compact. That's just me being picky.

There better be pictures of the crimper too... (thats what I was after, I mean a $320 crimper.... I hope it at least gives you a little tickle goodnight before you put it away...)

I'll be searching your build threads now :P
