check out the news on the front page!
Its a good possibiltity that it might still be blocked when
April 16th comes. But luckly it is at one end and not in the
middle. Plus there are other roads we all can go to. But the
main thing is we all can still hang out talking rotors! Man I Love You Guys! :cheers2: :patriot:

Two years ago I came 441, And it was very slow, I thought I`d never get through it. And people would just come to a dead stop at look at Bears on the side of the road. Like they were at the Zoo. Just a bad way too go. Its going to be tough and very out of the way this year.

ANNNNND, if you come down through Pigeon Forge, you can enjoy the additional interminable delay caused by a few thousand street rods coming to town for the Spring Rod Run. Maybe we should all bring shovels and clean off the rockslide ourselves.

TitaniumTT 03-22-2010 07:39 PM

Like I said, I'm bringing my XJ. Someone bring a big drill, concrete bits, ancors, chains and I'll drag that shit out

Thats sounds like a great idea.

I miss my old Cherokee. 4.0 ltr., 5 spd., Up Country susp. Damn thing could do anything, go anywhere. And my even older '79 Scout...345 V-8 and all the torque ever produced. Literally, and this is not exaggeration, pulled down small buildings with that beast. Ah yes, I remember the days before my rotary infection took hold, and the feeling of earth moving torque.

ZGN 03-23-2010 07:59 AM

240k on my 98 JGrand Cherokee and still runs perfect. :)

and I really hope this rock slide is fixed b-4 the event..

FC Zach 03-23-2010 08:17 AM

TitaniumTT, If you bring that we'll have to donate some gas to the cause, those in-lines have terrible gas mileage. I'll bring the dynamite lol

WE3RX7 03-23-2010 08:24 AM

My TJ 4.0L still gets roughly 20mpg highway, lol.... thats not tooo horrible for the size motor.

TitaniumTT 03-23-2010 09:34 AM

I get about 18 mpg highway spinning 31's, and about 16mpg towing the FD :D It's cheaper to run the XJ than the 7 but I'll gladly take fuel donations! I've found the key is to stay ~1800 rpm's Over that the effeicency really drops off. I want to toss on a header and the later model intake mani and see what happens

WE3RX7 03-23-2010 11:42 AM

Yea, I run 31s too.. but I've got the infamous 6spd daimler trans... it does help, but only a little...

TitaniumTT 03-23-2010 11:48 AM

When I need a clutch, one of those trans' is going in. Maybe a 4:1 x-fer case as well....

So what's the latest? Did a clean-up start?

My '96 Cherokee w/4.0 and 5-spd consistently got 24 mpg at 70 mph. Not bad for a rectangle with 4.10 gears.

Phil says that TDOT says the dragon will be open this Friday! Reprieved! Reprieved! Curfew will not ring tonight!

djmtsu 03-23-2010 08:51 PM

My 99 GC 4.0 gets around 20mpg still with over 145000 on the clock. Not bad considering how much heavier it is than a standard Cherokee.
