UPDATE:
Went today and weighed the FC. This weight includes me(190lbs) and 7 gallons of gas(42lbs total).................. http://i721.photobucket.com/albums/w...y/FCweight.jpg I am totally surprised! The company just got there scale calibrated last week and it only has a 5lb error varience WOW. I figured being the turboII model and having the LS1 would have made the car tip 3K easy. I am happy :) As for the FC, I have been driving it around like a mad man, getting some miles on the LS7 clutch and just seeing how the car reacts. I leave next thursday for the tune. :) |

Yeah not bad at all. A curb weight of 2728 dry tank, 2,827 with a FULL tank(100lbs) with a V8 is awesome. The OEM TurboII was 2845 with full tank of gas.
Hehehehehee....makes me giggle about some of the people on the other club that said that this swap made the car WAAYYYYY heavier. :) |
Well we made it home yesterday..........it was a nightmare getting back. Old man winter HAD to have his last storm the day I come back from my tune!! Talk about a major pucker factor going over two of the passes at 5950FT with no chains(they were making everybody put on chains...we had none.
Rain and snow the whole way back....my car got some minor road rash :( Lets sum it up for you with pictures: Car loaded on Uhaul after cursing and having to remove some shit on the trailer to clear the front lip. *Cant open driver door once loaded since car is so low. NOW the only reason I ran a car cover was last month when I went to Spokane for a family death there was a TON of gravel everywhere. I figured I would take some paint chaffing over rock chips anyday. Soo I put masking tape on all the "high" areas of the body. Without trying to sound like an ass... nah, screw it... I'll be an ass, lol.. I don't think there is much to say. LS V8 with 400hp and 350+ tq, its not really THAT surprising. I think you're car looks great and I hope you enjoy all the power and just drive the piss out of it, but I wouldn't expect people to be jumping up and down with excitement, lol.. UPDATE:
Had a huge local free car show today in the downtown area. Figured since I detailed the FC for 3 hours yesterday, what the hell right? MAN! did it get a TON of attention, I was answering questions from 10am to 3 pm lol. I ended leaving early and didnt hear the car show winners. this is the first V8 swapped car where the engine didn't look completely out of place, i like it!
usually a v8 rx7 looks about as integrated as the pic of the cat with a pancake on its head, but yours looks very OEM. mike |

Only thing I would add. is some hood struts... the prop rod looks so out of place on such a clean, well done, V8 molested FC chassis :D J. |
