I can't quantify it due to the lack of back to back's, but in comparison to other systems I've ran including two jacobs leading coils and seperate jacob's amps on each (can you say welding arc?) this system stacks up well. I am inclined to think the level that inductive's would run out of steam on is probably quite high. Super anxious to see the results of this setup though.

I heart M&W btw :)

Oh, and who did the plug wires??

I agree with you Joe. Unless there's TONS of meth and boost to the point where an inductive doesn't have the energy to spark, I think inductives will do much better for a rotary. But we'll see. The FD will most likely see alot more boost and meth as well so I suspect I'll be repeating the test with the winning coil vs the winning CDI.

I love some M&W as well, I'm curious, I hope I don't hurt any feelings ;)

The pulg wires were built by the engineer @ MoTeC that owns the equipment. I've got at least one more order to place with them before this car is done, so what I plan to do is order ~20' of that wire, and all new boots and terminals as well and all new plug wires using the same wire for each. This way someone that sells says the D585's in a kit can't claim that it was the wires that caused those coils to come in where they did, if that happens to be the case.

Where the Hell is Bill BTW???? I need coils from him.

Aight rotards, off to dive into some more TC/chassis/PD wiring.....:banghead:

You guys are nuts.

I don't have a tenth of the ambition (or $$$) to do this much work, in this amount of time.

I did polish the headlights on the RX-8 today :)

If I blow up this POS at DGRR, you guys have to rebuild it......I will be timing you.

Lets not forget that one saturday I went to Daves for some Dyno tuning, did a comp test first, found a sticky corner seal. Went home, partied my ass off, recovered sunday starting working on the car Monday night after work and the next saturday was back on the dyno...... tough week but it was done ;)

helghast7 03-27-2010 11:12 PM

If you're gonna do a track car, do something cheap, like a Miata, and then have us put a 13B in it :suspect:

UPDATE: Wiring takes WAY TOO FUCKING LONG TO DO IT RIGHT! And it NEVER comes out as clean as I want it too..... that annoys me.

More Updates - Got a delivery from Paul Yaw today :D

5450cc's of fuel flow, yes, two ID725's and two ID2000's

Also got the top secret Bosch coils in as well... Cannot wait to get these parts on the rig. My only regret is that my custom 2ndary fuel rail won't be done in time. Oh well, over the summer I guess. It won't help any with flow, but it will look atlot better and keep the plumbing a bit neater as well. Awesomeness to come.

All the talk of race cars I figured I would corrupt your thread with my new project. Sorry!! Just picked it up last Saturday. Long term( 3-5 yr) track car project. Building what I consider the "ultimate track FD". 93' SS touring or base model to start life. I am throwing it on the frame rack to check everything out and fix if needed. Then it comes back for a loong rest while I aquire a seat and steering column and rack in preperation for a mac-daddy cage. Mean time I will be removing sound deadner with Dry ice and a BFH!

Here are some cramped garage shots of the new 7. It came with no hood, front or rear bumper, and broken hatch glass. NOTHING on the inside. Damage to the passenger side in front of the rear tire. Possible frame damage but not bad IMO. Nothing a pro can't fix. The car was getting picked up by a scrap metal yard and I "saved" it. 1 mans junk is another mans treasure.

The best part was how much.. I guess with trailor rental and the 20 bucks for the front fenders I paid...$75.00, for the entire thing!!( It was actually free, but we all know there are NO free puppies)!
