wise response.....
:94: |
lol good stuff.
I tried to kick the motor over tonight but I keep popping my 140AMP Circuit breaker before my battery. My redtop battery is fully charged but it just seems like it doesnt have the muster to turn it over. |
Hmmm what amp fuse does the Vette camaro etc have? Also I am coming over right now. Haha
Battery cables backwards on the starter? That was the only way I ever popped that sucker |
Damn nice build sir. Glad you're sticking with the chassis. I don't give a shit about chevy engines personally, but you can't argue with results. A fast car is a fast car. I hope to see it running soon!

POSTED A COUPLE DAYS AGO:
Soooo another day of f*ing around and sorry, no start up vid yet. I plan on trying tomorrow since I will have 3 hours free in the garage YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS! Since I couldnt start it tonight due to my baby boy going to sleep at 6:30 and his room being right above the garage. Open headers would make him poop his diaper! However i did get some things done tonight: Installed 2 grounds that I should have in the first place(other ground is on driverside). This fixed my cranking issue.: http://i721.photobucket.com/albums/w...rleebob021.jpg Installed my Norris motorsports PCV catch can. Great product and nice qaulity: http://i721.photobucket.com/albums/w...rleebob024.jpg http://i721.photobucket.com/albums/w...rleebob022.jpg Got in my black sparkplug wire boots....story on these is I ordered them a long time ago back when I wasnt gonna wrap my headers. Part got on back order, i forgot I ordered them due to all the other shit I ordered, they came in today lol. Figured I would sport them, they look good and to be honest I wasnt digging my red wires. : http://i721.photobucket.com/albums/w...rleebob019.jpg Figured out my JTR bleeder location with upper radiator hose I was going to use. I ended up just rotating the hose and now the 'hump' is on the driver side. Now the bleeder is in the highest position.: http://i721.photobucket.com/albums/w...rleebob026.jpg How she sits for start up tomorrow(intake layout is temporary of course): http://i721.photobucket.com/albums/w...rleebob030.jpg |
Alright guys got her started......fuel pump was wired backwards duh!
Actually got it started on Tuesday but 5 min after this vid I got a call that a loved one was dying so my family and I headed out to WA. We got back yesterday. Anyway, The motor sounds awesome and runs great. She is full of coolant in this vid since I got that low coolant sensor in that day. The vibrations from the open headers were so intense that shit was falling of my shelves and getting my attention lol. Some parameters I recorded: EGT's @ idle: L bank 400*F, R bank 385 Fuel Pressure: 65 psi Idle rpm: 800-850 Wide band AFR: ......I was getting crazy #'s from 20 to 40:1 afr's...i need to calibrate the LC-1/XD-16 set-up. Maybe the sensor being installed 3'' from the open exhst pipe was throwing it for a loop The hottest I let the coolant temp get was 195 on the GM sensor and my shitty prosport sensor was reading 220 in the passenger head. I may still have to burp it some. My fan never kicked on and I have to contact frost to see what he programmed my fans to kick on at. All in all I am STOKED it runs!! ...you can see my dumbass here trying to bleed the coolant right after start up....it dawns on me 15 seconds later that the thermostat has to open up lol http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6IXLMBtc9gw#]start up |
shit ya.
|
Sorry to hear about sick loved ones fella. Good to see that its runnin. Now come pick me up. Gotta seat them rings! Damn your a funny bastard and lmao at shit falling off the shelf. I like the "really?" look you gave them as they fell.
Must come ooogle is it almost BBQ time? I can actually have it at my house now. |
Haha, thanks man. Yeah I was just thinking, " that shit better not of hit my car!"
I am troubleshooting a fan relay wiring issue right now. Once i get it figured out tonight I will put her on the ground. NO leaks, no high temps, no low pressures so all is well.......so far ;) |
Haha we can go to walmart and grab a fan to plug into the cigarette lighter when it reaches the right temp. Seriously though I used to be a mad hater on these swaps but your build has changed my mind on that completely. I haven't even rode in it yet. Get that fan figured out and get out there and Flog that biotch! Gonna be a sleeper. Normally people are very scared by the rotary noise. At least with my car with the gilmners that was my experience. First race of the year is coming up soon too. You gonna be there?
|
Im gonna say even though you already know but im lovin it. Clean as ever, and Clean wins no matter whats under the hood.
|
yes yes...give in to the darkness....muhahahaha. ;)
Thanks a lot guys, means a lot. Yeah, I will try to get it to SCCA if all goes accordenly. |
Did it blow up yet? You've still got that bdc sticker on there..... it's just a matter of time
|
hahaha.. nope.. no darkside for me.. im going NA 20B Gmonsen style haha.

lol whatever :)
Now take that motor out of your 5700lb Denali, put it in a 2800lb car and walk away with a 7.5 power-to-wieght ratio. NEW Better qaulity vid
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BmO-XNUVJVs |
FIRST DRIVE yesterday.....MAN OH MAN was it SWEET!!
Everything works as expected. The Integra speedo only needed a little tap on the head and then the needle jumped and worked the whole 12 miles. The cooling temp differances in my gauges cleared up. The C6 Z06 clutch is very streetable, I was expecting something a little harsher lol. The low end torque is CRAZY...so nimble when cruising and has good street manners. It goes to get the exhaust tomorrow morning. I drove it down today to the exhaust shop to have them take a peek at the ride height just in case I needed to raise it for their hoist. Height was fine. They were CRAZY EXCITED about it, I laughed as I pulled up because everyone in the parking lot/block was rubber necking me:)) Got some pics of it today....it is dirty as all hell but I forgot how nice she sits. :yay: http://i721.photobucket.com/albums/w...urray/3007.jpg http://i721.photobucket.com/albums/w...urray/3009.jpg http://i721.photobucket.com/albums/w...urray/3015.jpg http://i721.photobucket.com/albums/w...urray/3002.jpg http://i721.photobucket.com/albums/w...urray/3006.jpg http://i721.photobucket.com/albums/w...urray/3003.jpg INTAKE DONE http://i721.photobucket.com/albums/w...urray/3004.jpg http://i721.photobucket.com/albums/w...ray/3005-1.jpg Interior cleaned http://i721.photobucket.com/albums/w...urray/3014.jpg Ride height is nice but hopefully not too low(rear especially) http://i721.photobucket.com/albums/w...urray/3011.jpg http://i721.photobucket.com/albums/w...urray/3010.jpg |
Exhaust DONE!!!!!
http://i721.photobucket.com/albums/w...urray/3024.jpg http://i721.photobucket.com/albums/w...urray/3023.jpg http://i721.photobucket.com/albums/w...urray/3025.jpg http://i721.photobucket.com/albums/w...urray/3022.jpg Turned out great looking! http://i721.photobucket.com/albums/w...urray/3027.jpg http://i721.photobucket.com/albums/w...urray/3028.jpg http://i721.photobucket.com/albums/w...urray/3030.jpg http://i721.photobucket.com/albums/w...urray/3029.jpg VIDEO: 3 033 The car is WAY louder then the camera makes it seem. The 6" Magnaflows really have a nice rasp to them. However I am happy I dont freeway travel....these babies will drone at higher speeds.:) All that is left now is to get my bumper installed, make a shroud for my radiator/ intake and take it to Spokane on to get tuned this month |
Nice!! Gonna be a fun drive.
|
Sorry, but I gotta say this... :(
The build started as a really costly build then turned into a V8 conversion. I dunno why you went with the cheapie crush bent exhaust system, cause the necked-down bends are just hurting exhaust flow. :( -Ted |
Quote:
|
in the v8's defense, i doubt it'll make any real difference lol
(until cam anyway) |
Quote:
The entire car has been costly over the last 8 years lol, this swap was actually pretty cheap after all the money you rotary guys paid me for my old parts lol:rofl: Quote:
What I have read about a 3% decrease in power |
Nicely done Sean!
I would change ONLY two things 1) I would change would be to swap the MAF pipe. Meaning put the strait piece before the sensor, not after it. 2) I would've ditched the bdc bullshit irons, the bdc bullshit meth system, and stayed rotary ;) OK, 3 things.... If I were you I'd give me your rims :smilielol5: |
Quote:
I already have dibs on those in the event something bad happens... you'll have to fight me for them B. And i wouldnt plan on winning if i were you ........ :toetap05::suspect::94: |
Quote:
I know you've spent a LOT of money on the previous build, and I gotta hand it to you to get to this point. Sorry to see you had to go through so much to get to this point. I guess my point is that it's too bad you had to cut a little bit of corners to get it completed. :) -Ted |
Quote:
As for the MAF, last night I moved it towards the TB another 1.5" by moving my straight section of tubing into the 90* elbow( I had another 2" of space in there to move it). 3 to 4" of straight pipe before the MAF is within limits of Chevys requirements. as for the rims.................never! Muhahahahahahahhaa;) Quote:
|
Well.........I take it back in to the exhaust shop tomorrow to have them remove the sections of crush bent exhaust.
I had no idea it was as big as a power reducer as it is. Should only run me another 160.00 for the replacement of the crush bends with good manderal bends I have. Damn you ReTED ;) |
