PS- you really can't ever sell that FC. It's like Charles' red REPU, it's been around so long it's like family.

FC Zach 05-20-2017 12:50 PM

I know.

Good to see you have things sorting out now Zach. I remember the fuel belching, pig of a
carb you had on those B3R meets.

You know, a hogged out Nikki with an SA intake and converter plate could probably feed
that engine really well. Just something to think about. :D

Whizbang 05-22-2017 03:23 PM

can you still get the parts for Nikki carbs? like for servicing them?

t_g_farrell 05-23-2017 09:27 AM

Absolutely! Rebuild kits are on rockauto or at your favorite advancedzone store.

Just don't use the new needles and seats, they don't work so well unless you doctor them up. Usually the old
ones are fine anyway.

Not even considering it anymore. Not because I'm too far in this project but because I want to get this issue resolved. I know once all is said and done I'll be happy with the decision. . again LOL

Anything new?

FC Zach 05-31-2017 08:32 AM

Nope, I called a week ago. No news on the ECU. Remaining harnesses (other side of engine harness and the power harness) have been sent to be inspected.

FC Zach 06-23-2017 12:34 AM

-Day 52,
Not sure how much longer I can handle the 7 not running. . Patience is wearing thin.

-Day 53,
Must start repair of daily. . Wife's Honda Acorn is too boring. Need mode of transportation!

-Day 54,
Weather the storm and drink more beer! ! I got this!

LOL but on a brighter note. . After years of delay and procrastination, I finally titled, registered, and insured the Hercules. This Saturday I will be entering it in its first show. Oh! and I'm on a two week vacation from work starting next Monday so things aren't too bad :)

Worked on it from the time I rolled out of bed till about three and drove it for about an hour, everything is perfect so far.

Connected and enabled the IACV and with the help of Jacob, he set the idle for me. So as of now it's running great.

It should be fine but I have to restore confidence in it first :)

You got the ECU back?

Yep, arrived Mon.

And on another note. . I found another wiper switch that I repaired but had forgotten about. I installed it and tested, to my surprise I works!
