the closest ive found where socks that go completely over the horns. I've been trying to find filters for inside the horns as well.
heres a link to the socks

Ram socks work, but something like this: http://www.efihardware.com/products/594/air-filter-50mm-ida-3.25-KN is probably closer to what you're looking for.
I used a Weber 48mm IDA carb to good effect, and I had a similar (and much cheaper) filter canister on it, that allowed the velocity stacks to extend up into the filter area; as that throttle body is an IDA style, and therefore the spacing should be the same, I wonder if a Weber IDA filter could be made to work with some mild adjustment?

An airbox is by far the simplest. It will also give you the possibility of taking in cold air from outside rather than engine bay air that you would get from the socks.

a friend of mine just used some filters from a snow mobile. they look basically the same as a cone filter that comes on just about every regular intake. but instead of being huge, its ITB sized. they sell them on eBay...

Pipercross is what our customers use. We use them for the street on our car. We do carry them. We have also carried these nets that do not filter the smaller stuff but are popular.

No offense, but pretty much any arrangement where you have a small filter on the horns, well, sucks. If you look at factory ITB setups on BMW's and such, they have one thing in common, they use a plenum. That is what I suggest that you do if you want it to perform as best as possible. This allows you to do 2 things, for one, you can take "cold" air from outside the engine bay and feed it to the engine, but secondly, you can get more filter area and get it away from the TB's, reducing the turbulence and giving better performance.

to make that work it a bit more involved that it sounds. i just need something to cover the air horns for now. I eventually DO want to go with something along those lines, but that will require some ingenuity since there is nothing "ready to go" to make that work.

I agree a plenum box will be better than the sock type filters but there is alot of work and cost involved.
