North East Caravan!

Just so there is ample time to plan, I AM a BIG planner, I thought I'd post up my route. Right now, it's just me. However, in talking with some of the Jersey crew, we're all down for a huge caravan.

Ideally I'd like to break it up into two days. Leaving around noon (from CT) on Thursday and stopping a more than halfway down. No farther north than around Staunton or so and as far south as Roanoke. Enjoying a nice nights alcohol induced sleep, good breakfast, and leaving after rush-hour and still being @ DGRRX for the opening of it all on Friday.

These are all very tentative plans and certainly subject to change and more importantly, I'm up for suggestions.

I believe myself and two others (2gslse and most likely Ray from Malloy) are going down on Thursday morning - early, like 6am so we'll be there for some nice afternoon/evening runs through the dragon before the stampede makes it there :) Then wake up on Friday and watch the herd arrive.

I know its early, but you're more than welcome to join in with us if plans change.

I also got my cabin reserved for Thursday, so will be keeping up to date on the Thursday plans ;)
Tried and failed last year, but lookin to do it right this year!

We've got our cabin set for Thursday so we're a go for an early departure on Thursday morning... I'm not sure of the route we'll be taking just yet. I've done both ways (through TN and through NC) so I'll post up our route when we get it figured it out...

I'll be heading down 81. Not sure of departure or arrival times yet. I know Tray has the cabin sorted out, not sure of the nights though. I'd imagine I'll be arriving mid-day Friday though just becuase I have a much longer drive than you spoiled bastards ;)

I don't know which way we will go yet but last year we met here in Front Royal and went down 81 since it it right here.

Dennis! Glad to see you over here my friend. Lets do some turkey hunting soon! I have to dig out the FC but I want to make one more run some day soon. Want to hit Dave's one more time as well. I need to start breaking the FC down and start my "See you @ DGRRX - Diary of a Madman" thread.

Wed night might not work for me, we'll see what work is like when the time comes. I'd love to cruise down with you guys though. If you leave Wed night, when are you planning on cruising into DG?

i most def want to go to daves again.. i got some leaks and a sqeeks from a belt.... and i also want to make sure the engine can make the trip....

I have some duel oil coolers than im prob going to thrown in. in a couple of weeks...

Hey Dennis, I'm thinking about taking some time this week and heading over to Daves.... Maybe Wed or Thurs the weather looks good. I just need to finish installing some seats :suspect: Then it's the last trip before I blow her apart for a 3 month marathon of blood sweat and dollars

Are there any other routes down that people are taking besides 81? I was on that road a few weeks ago and it NEVER ENDED! Something like 570 miles. Of course I was driving an XJ with an FD in tow but still.......... damn it was long. And @ 3 in the morning none of the gas stations are open but at least there was a 60sec delay from the time I pulled over till the next set of headlights were in sight :smilielol5:
