As requested, on Saturday 08/29/09 at 10 a.m. we will meet up at the what-a-burger in Pelham on hwy119 then at 10:30 a.m. we will head out on 119 to hwy25 (29 dreams) in Leeds for a cruise in the mountains and back. Should be pretty fun and we should be back around 12:00-1:00 depending on how long we drive. Please no stupidity. And be careful on the mountain and watch for motorcycles and state troopers, which the rotary group seems like the most responsible out of the whole import community around here so dont let me down haha. Hope to see you guys there!

Sounds good Mike!!!
Question... Can we meet somewhere near Leeds?? I live in Irondale area which is only 5-10 min drive to Leeds. Maybe at the Chevron station at Barber exit??
Just curious.. I don't want to go all the way to Pelham than drive back..
I'll bring my camera and I also have some car mounts for video cams.
You don't want to drive???? what? j/k

Actually, I might meet you guys on 119 near Grants Mill Rd. There is a small church just before Grants Mill Rd on the left.. I'll just chill there and wait for you guys..
Also, you guys interested in doing lunch or something afterwards in Leeds??
Mike, can you guys give me a call when you are leaving the burger joint?
What happens if the weather is shitty?? As of now it calls for Isolated T-storms.

Well, how about we goto chinese buffet or something in Irondale?? There is one on top of the hill on 78. Its cheap, ton of parking, and pretty decent food for a buffet.

Hobby,
I'm going to meet them on 119 and Grants Mill Rd. If you take Grants Mill all the way to 119 and make a right, there is a small church on the right hand side with a gravel parking. If you want, I could meet you there. I'm guessing if they leave Whataburger at 10 (I'm guessing they will leave more like 10:30) they should reach the church around 11. Do you want to say we meet there around 10:45?

To highlight the event: Next time we need to meet up at a gas station :D . On the first leg of the cruise we added up to a good line of car, then I lose all electronics in my car-no gauges no electric fans no brake lights! I take it easy over the mountain and everyone is having a great time, its been a long time since I have seen a line of cars like that going through the mountain. On the return im behind dzire, herblenny, and kevin. # rotaries in front of you shreding the corners was a sight to see/hear.
Had a lot of fun guys! Definantly would like to hang out with all of you guys again
Next time, a little more than a weeks notice would be good as well.

Located in Clay and Cleburne Counties, Cheaha State Park is the pinnacle of natural beauty and awe in Alabama. Surrounded by the Talladega National Forest, this foothill of the Appalachian Mountains holds the reputation of the highest point in Alabama. Standing 2,407 ft. above sea level, it is no wonder why the local Creek Indians named this place “Chaha,” meaning high place.
After the state of Alabama acquired lands in 1933, which today comprise 11 of the 22 State Parks, a cooperative effort with the State of Alabama and the National Park System, paved the way for the Civilian Conservation Corp's (CCC) development and construction of Cheaha State Park. Its continuous operation since 1933, makes Cheaha, Alabama's oldest continuously operating State Park.
I went there last year with some rotary guys and it was pretty cool.. its bit out of the way (near Anniston, AL). Drive is ok... Not quite like the US129 but still pretty neat.
