New Mazda rx8 r3?? [Archive]

Hello Pips.

I got the go ahead from the boss lady today to look for a new car :).

So it looks like the new r3 will feed my rotary crack.

Now what color do you guys think to go with, blue or black no red.....

Or any input regarding driving experience, how the new seats feel and the suspension handling?

BLUE!!!!!

It's been getting excellent reviews, great handling, fun to drive, they only complain about not enough power but that's usual with the RX-8s

I spoke with the gate keeper lol Boss. Regarding color. Wee thinking the blue might be the best, but at the same time will se what looks best.

I found a local dealer that has one in stock a black one. Might go there tomorrow and check it out. Will harass the sales man regarding price finagle and what not. If its a good deal i might get it on the spot.

If not i might wait a couple of weeks and see what the sales guy calls me up with a offer i cannot refuse...

I looked into possibly getting the blue R3 as a new dd, but have decided against it. Great car I'm sure, just not what I'm looking for currently. I do think it is, by far, the best looking 8 that Mazda has put out.

Red is usually the most sold. The 93-95 RX-7 R1 and R2 most sold color was red.

Well i went with the blue mica. Will be picking that bad boy up at the end of the month.

That gives me a good reason to break in the motor with a drive down to DGRR :)

Will be cool to meet some of you down there.....

After playing the cat and mouse game with many Mazda sales rep from different dealerships. I finally found one in Ohio a 2 hours drive from me with a great price and couple of free stuff included in the deal.

The r3 will be coming off the delivery truck at the mazda dealer next week some time with only 3 miles on my new r3 :) and will be picking that bad boy up next Friday.

This is going to be a looooooong week .........

Thanks for the compliments.. Yes the blue mica was a good choice over the black. I rely like it, the seats the way it handles straight out the box very nice ride i do recommend it for people thinking of buying it.

To tell you the truth buy looking at the car to me it really does not need any changes it looks really good the way it is ( to each is own)...

Now on the other hand the new project that will be finished next year is all out balls to the wall :) crazy machine... (FD 3 rotor ppt dry sump t56 8.8 ford )

I had my first opportunity to see the R3 in person yesterday. The blue really looks amzing. The back seats are utterly useless other than a package shelf. But it really does look nice in blue.

I've been looking for a nice deep blue to paint my 7 with and this might be it. I'm wanting to see one in person but the local dealerships don't have one in stock. Only black. :(

I like the interior of the new 8, but the front end ruins the whole car for me. Too damned smiley.

i'm not gonna lie, i sat in one at the toronto autoshow, and the seats were dynamite. I really wish i could get a set of those wheels to put on my seven... but i just about crapped my pants when i asked the dealership how much a set of wheels was. It was something like $1800... each

Hey - how as the ownership experience been so far?

I'm sick of my POS E39 M5 and considering just going to a local dealership that has a blue R3 and seeing what magic he can work.

Did you opt for the extended warranty, any reliability stigmas I should be aware of (other than the usual rotary black magic people believe in)?

Better yet...5? months later, are you still in love with it?

Its not bad car, i like it so far. Yes i did get the extended warranty.
So far it running good. got about 5k miles on it...

If i had to do it again i will still get the rx8 :)..
