I have been on the forums for a couple of years but have never posted.
I bought my '89 vert in 2005 from Scott at Mazsport in Largo. I became the third owner. The car was typical of a Florida car. The blaze red was more blaze pink. Each year since we have budgeted some money to get the car where I wanted it.
Year one was tires (Toyo Proxies) and a ton of misc parts. Spent a lot of time fixing broken plastic bits, trying to get the paint to a reasonable shape, buying parts off of ebay.
Year two changed the engine from a mosquito fogger to a Mazspport rebuild. We changed the rotor housings to turbo parts and put on a k&n intake. The engine runs right up the rpm range but got a little wheezy.
So in year three we put a racing beat stainless cat back to free up the exhaust. Additionally, we installed Toiko HPs and Eibach springs for the convertible. The instructins said that the springs would lower the car 1/2" but the springs I had on had drooped so much that the car actually raised 3/8".
This year we put a two-tone paint job on the car. i used Spraycraft in NPR. Fl. and they did a great job. The car is a daily driver but I hope I can keep it looking good for a long time. I have to replace the top and get the seats covered, then I will need a new project. I posted some pics of the car and I am coming to Deals Gap to run the Dragon.
