I can have the stock alternator rebuilt and upgraded to put out higher amperage. Stock these alternators put out about 90 amps. When you add underdrive pulleys and electronics such as stereo, gauges, etc this can become a problem. It is even possible to blow a motor from insufficient voltage to the fuel pump and injectors under load. Common signs of a weak alternator are going through batteries, slow rolling windows, slow cranking, etc. My rebuilds put out around 120 amps WITH a Greddy-style underdrive pulley. I have had several done for local customers with good results. I am thinking of making them available to the public for $165 providing you give me a core. Let me know if there is any interest.

Does this get done to the one we send in or do you have revolving stock that we can send ours to you after we recieve the new one?

Hmmm, this is something I hadn't thought about yet. Not a bad idea. The only problem is not having an alternator for a while, I need one right away. If you DO just do a one for one swap, that would be cool.

I have one core at the shop right now but turnaround time is less than a week. I had the last one done in a day. I can ask that the rebuilder get all the parts beforehand so there is less wait.

I found a better stator so I can now get them to put out 140+ amps. The bigger stator is a bit more expensive so the new price is $185

Alright I'll see if I can get the guys at the shop to pull mine and send it to you since I'm out of country right now. I was going to wait til I got back but I'll see what I can do right now. I may just wait until June or so anyway. I'll be in touch!

I am no longer offering the 120 amp upgrade because I can't get a steady supply of the stators. I do however now have a 140 amp version. Price is $185.

I assume this is FD alternators only?

I can do others too, but I would have to do the legwork and find a stator that would work. If you want to send me a spare core I can see what I can have done with it.

I am doing both fd and fc alternators. I have a bunch of these running around with great results.
