I don't know if we are supposed to link over there, but this seems somewhat important. If you haven't seen it, it seems that a guy in California owns the pearly white FD and is planning on selling or LS-swapping it. Sorry if I'm a newb to 3rd gens, but if this is for real it seems interesting.

Yeah, he has posted it in the for sale section on 7club. He wants 20,000$ for it. If I had that much dough saved up I would....just to save it from the ls swap. I mean come on man, I'm all for what you want to do to your own car and everything, but this is 1 of 1! You don't do that to cars like that! :icon_no2:

What is the latest estimate on cost of a LS swap - DYI?

damn....never heard of a pearl white FD from the factory....I've seen the plain white though.

20K for a clean, low mileage FD seems reasonable to me....Most people just freak out about the rotary.....i hope that someone saves that car from an LS motor.

I love the "cheap-asses" jab the OP threw in there!!

Kind of like catching a unicorn; sawing off its horn and using it to plow fields. So sad.

It's a off-white '94 FD.

If you guys had a one-of-one '94 FD with a matt black engine bay, would you be so passionate about the thing???

well, if it's STOCK pearl white then I'd be trippin' like I am....if it was a repaint then it'd just be another white FD and I wouldn't think it's so cool.

Pearl white looks hot on everything, I got honda's s2000 grand prix white for my car.

I'm a sucker for white and green cars.

That's interesting. I always heard that the only pearl white FD in the states was either owned by Mazda USA or one of their top level executives. I guess not.

well, if it's STOCK pearl white then I'd be trippin' like I am....

By all accounts, it is the only Pearly White USDM FD.

But so what??

It's only a small variation of a white paint colour, it's not like it's a uber-desirable engine/gearbox combo, or a spec'd up limited edition equipment pack.

Like I said in the locked thread over there, it ain't no Hemi 'Cuda.

It'll never be worth anything. Curiosity value only.

We don't have all those model year choices that you guys down under have ;)
93-95 is as far as we get legally . This is more rarer that a CYM, and there's 300-350 of them. An those CYMs still fetch a better value than most FDs that go to the for sale sections.

This car in no way compares to a Hemi 'Cuda or even a Charger Daytona. Outside of the rotary community it's noting special....but it IS special to us. :patriot: Like I said before, if I have enough funds for the car I would save it from the LS swap. If he still has it in 4 months when I get back stateside maybe we can work a deal.

^I agree. It's worth what the buyer deems it to be worth. If it's too much then of course no one will buy it, so no worries...

btw, why is the title on this thread the EVIL FORUM? obviously you read whats on there so lets just be civil and call it rx7club like its named.

Hey, INSIDE the rotary community it's nothing special, that's my point!!

I just don't get the hype.

This seems kind of strange. I thought that the car that was supposed to be the only pearly white factory car in existence was an eibach promotion car. Why would this one be all modified? Especially if it had the full pedigree that it would have surely have had at the point of sale. This guy who is selling it has no paperwork about where this car came from and its modified. However if it is actually a 1 of 1 and gets ls swapped this guy will have a country full of angry rotorheads after him.

I think the LS swap is either because that's exactly what he's after.. or a genious ploy to get rid of the car for as much moolah as possible from someone who's apssionate enough to buy it!

says the guy with an RZ!!

to you it's just another S6 and nothing as cool as the later S7's or S8's.

I don't get the hype either. Whoopee, a different color.
You guys are reminding me of those guys wearing cheezy Tommy Bahama shirts at the Barrett-Jackson auctions that pay $700k for a "Mannix" car.

I get the hype of the "Pearly White" much more than I understand the hype of a later model fd with a different performance package. I promise I can build an exact spec of whatever later models were released. Only one person truly gets the 1 of 1 Pearly White FD if infact that is the car and it does even exist :why:
