View Full Version : Injector size and type
I'm looking for some new injectors and I came across these:

I think they'll fit, but I'm not sure and would like validation on it. I am driving an S4 so the low-imp is perfect, but I only have an RTek so i'm probably going to have to do a monster tune on them. That should be interesting.

they will not even come close to fitting in the bung on the manifolds or the center iron. They are the same injector found on a lot of GM makes. The outlet is far to wide to fit.

Have I told you how much I like you? I dare say that you save me more money than anyone else I know.
Could you throw up the dimensions for a stock injector?

The stock injector size and style is shared with most Japanese imports. Nissan, Toyota, Mazda.
RHD Japan can hook you up. All you really need to do is go by what they look like *for the most part*.

I've heard rumors though that if I go with a 1600 I need to be aware of their Response time otherwise the idle will be an issue.

the issue is that a large injector cant be control at a real low pulsewidth. So say you want to idle. even with a 550 injector at a 5% pulsewidth the atomization of the fuel injector becomes less effective. This goes the same for cruising. A large injector will make for a terrible idle and harsher cruise (bucking).
The stock injector is a denso piece and most nippon denso injectors are interchangable. So as stated, that would be your mistu, nissna, honda stuff. The US makes tend to use a variety of injectors that have no common ground with each other.
then there is always side feed injectors.

Only if you are using the 1600's in the primaries. Which would be insane.
