Post here if you track your Rotary and let us know what year, model, and what you've done..

I'll start..

2004 RX-8 Lightning yellow. Did one track day with Speed for Sale Event at TGPR. 8 is pretty much bone stock with some SSR comps.

I was attending some "Touring Laps" (kept it under 115) of Portland International Raceway's road course last Saturday in my CVPI when I *bought* my RX-7 for track day use! :D

I think the locals know my FD gets plenty of track abuse at TGPR and Barbers. But I bought it so I'd have something fun to drive on the street, AutoX, and track.

BTW going to Road Atl. for the first time in 2 weeks with NASA.

91 built to SCCA-ITS specs by previous owner. although cage currently out of date. Dad and i bought it 4yrs ago have redone a lot on the car. We use to autocross it together, but i dont have much time anymore. Dad still takes it to autox, while i have stepped up to track days with it. Hope to have it back to w2w in the next few years.

Ive driven it at Mid-Ohio and BeaveRun. the car enjoys eating 911s, evos, and bimmers in corners :).

I hate you!! j/k. I was wanting to go to that event, but as always... I'm a day late and a dollar short. I've done auto x since around 2001 and been to a few track days here and there, but haven't been able to do any auto x or track events in around 2 years due to work. I'm hoping to catch a break and make it to the speed for sale track day in october if I can get my mid tour leave around the same. The track bug has hit me hard the last year or so... and it just continues to manifest... haha.

I take my FC out to Tsukuba, Nikko, Fuji, Ebisu and Mobara.

It is set up for grip but I do take it out for drifting 1 out of 10 times or so.

I am looking forward to posting up about my experiences here as well as reading about all of yours over there.

You should try to come to Barbers some too. I'll definately be there with NASA and probably some other groups throughout the year. It's pretty much my home track so I try to go there as much as possible.

I should be at the SforS event too.

Tracking is slightly addictive!!

Been to Gingerman a lot, IRP and Blackhawk once in the wet. I want to hit Autobahn, Grattan, Putnam and maybe RA or MAM. Though the walls at RA scare the crap outta me. If it were any other car, then sure, but since this isn't a dedicated track car...

I'm also dying to hit VIR.

The Turbo has been to Virginia International Raceway a few times. OK, several times for various things. HPDEs, Holiday Laps, Parade Laps... and did 1 autocross a couple of years ago at some airport.

Once I get back from this deployment, I plan on hitting up the track ALOT!!!

Done one HPDE since I have had my latest FD...had a slight oil leak...tried to find it in the paddocks at the end of day 1, but when I went to remove the spark plug wires from the leading coil pack this is what happened....ending my weekend.

I'm fairly certain that wire had never been removed in 92k miles/15 years since it was uber-corroded. The car is now down for a rebuild and should finally see the track again by late spring/summer.

My brother and I run our gen 1 in PA Hill Climb events. It's not actually a track event, but there ain't no cones either:

We run every other weekend from Memorial Day to the middle of September. We are sanctioned by SCCA as a Time Trial event. All the courses are on public roads except for 2 we run at Summit Point, WV.

I purposely bought my FD to track it!!

...although I haven't done it yet. I've been tracking my M3 for about the past 3 years, and did bikes for a couple years before that.

I bought my FD in January and will hit the first track day/shakedown April 18th weather permitting. This year I will likely still use the M3 for most track schools and work into getting track time and more familiar with the FD.

It's a 93 Touring. The previous owner of my car tracked it regularly, so it's pretty well sorted which is the reason I was attracted to it. Main mods are Advance Design coilovers 600/450 springs (I know...stiff, he used to run it mostly at BeaveRun though which is marble smooth), BBK with Coleman 2 piece rotors and Willwood calipers, Crooked Willow dual oil coolers with carbon fiber ducts, fluidyne, intake, full exhaust, no emissions, stock twins at 13psi, PFC, no a/c, no p/s. Weighed 2820 with an absolutely full tank of gas and one of the spare Kumho 275/40/17 tires sitting in the passenger seat.

I'll likely be taking it to Nelson Ledges, Mid Ohio, and BeaveRun. At this point if I'm going any further then I'll probably take the M3 since I know that car better and have a better idea of its reliability.

In my east coast days...
I tracked an 87 Turbo II, an 88 GTU and a 88 'Vert Turbo II conversion throughout the 1990s at Lime Rock and Watkins Glen. I managed to track my 87 Turbo II at Bridgehampton before it closed. Non-rotary, I tracked my VW in the late 80s.

Tracked my Miata and FD at Lime Rock once each in this decade but spent most of it racing karts and out of the rotary scene fixing my POS BMW that only got tracked once.

Now that I'm on the left coast...
Tracked at Buttonwillow and will be hitting most of the SoCal tracks in 2008 (crossing fingers). :)

Once I got my FD 2 weeks later it was at Laguna Seca..

Since then it's hit Laguna a lot, Sears just as much, and just this past weekend I made the haul out to Thunderhill for a weekend and had a blast. All were HPDEs with various groups in NorCal, and I'm looking forward to a few more

I do some auto cross events with our local club. I have modified for this year(coilovers, big brake kit, strut tower bars, and exhaust).

Started with autocrossing back in 89.
Autocrossed everything from a Olds Firenza wagon, to 84 camaro, Lumina Z34, LT1 vette, newer Z28 camaro, my RX-3, and a host of RX-7s.

Raced in ITA my RX-3 a few times, but it was a real heap. Olllll d ITA car that went to Scotland to be rebuilt by a Boeing sheetmetal guy. Oh and a GSL-SE driveline for it.

Did a TON (like over 25 or so)of track day events with my 86 Sport, my 10th annie TII, and my 84 RX-7 that is now the ITA car.

Have been racing the ITA RX-7, as well as some seat time racing a F500 car, fror the guys I work for on weekends. (Outside pole and 2nd place first time in the seat)

Getting married, and having two kids, plus 8 or 9 knee surgeries for my wife, ending with total replacement of both (not done correctly so they have to re-do them) has put a damper on my racing funds/time. BUT. Were at the point where I will be able to race more this year.

Do some auto cross with the FD now just getting into some road race at the local speedways. Great go and can't wait to finish my GT4088R build.
