Orered and just got today a AME (same as Mazdaspeed) CAI from Cork Sport, good people to deal with:)

Apart from removing the front bumper and the std Filter case and pumping, it all went together easy:)
And has made a big difference from the std, and I would say its better than the KnN Tyhoon V2, I've had on for the last year or so.

More Than happy with the out come, Noticed a big difference in response, over the std filter box, and its better than the KnN Tyhoon V2 I had on the Rx8 for a year & quieter than the KnN as well:)

Yeah, I've got the MS version and I am very happy with it. Despite having to take the front bumper off, I found it to be a very fun install.

The bumper on the rx8 is easy to remove:)
I've read that the MS Version has one rubber hose & pipe less, is that true?

I readed that tha Madazspeed CAI has a one less hose and pipe fitting, so I google and got this pic.

The Mazdaspeed no doubt has 2 screens just like the AEM. I ran the K&N v2 for a while as well and I like my AEM much more.

Great intake choice!

Yeah, my MS intake has two screens. I found some website reusing pictures of other MS intake (For the 3 and 6)... not to sure why.

Cheers, Thanks for the Info, I've been told wrong then.
I did some data logging, and the Air temps with the CAI are up to a 2/3 lower than what I was getting with the KnN pod filter around town
The KnN would drop again once you started moving, but always sucked up the hot air off the radiator when not moving.

Can you drive in rain with the AEM?

You cant ford a river if thats what you mean... I have had no problems in the rain I take extra care to avoid puddles but nothing major.

plus the rotary doesn't hydro-lock like boingers. You just get some steam out the rear.

Plus the filter and the sock are are pretty good at repelling water too... short of submerging them in water, it mostly rolls right off.

Ok, been on the track since fitting this fitter, and its all good, The AME has made a big difference.
I got a mate with a rx8, which has a piggy back ecu, racing beat air duct and filter, no cat, no air pump, and a few other things. (for pics, of trace day, please see NZ tread) He used to be a far bit faster, Now theres very little in it.
This would be the biggest power gain I've bolterd on:)

Long term, I want to do a port job on it, I know there's little gain doing this, well not as much as the pre rx8 motors, but 10% is a gain, would like to play around with the setups that control the inlet manfoild lenght, and the 6 ports controls, as I think there may be some gains??
AS far as bolt on, Light Fly Wheel, slighty biger wheels, would like to get the rest of the AutoExe kit.
May look at a Small turbo kit-- may be..

Good deal, thanks for the info. No, no rivers  I just was worried with it's location that rain might be a problem.
