Who has them and how do they like them?
I'm reading the reviews on them and some of them seem to have problems with quality and accuracy.
I'm curious because I am thinking I'll be unloading a fair amount of cash pretty soon for a set, and i'd like to have peoples opinion on them before I buy them.
If worse comes to worse I may have to just save and buy a digital dash, though I really don't want to. :(

i have the boost, water temp, egt, oil pressure, and oil temp. i like em IMO. i heard that the needle does not stay on 0 but i guess i was the lucky ones. they also have good customer service so if your gauge is defected they will replace it. these are a step down from the defi.

Oil temp and pressure here.
I thought somethign was wrong with them when I got them because in the boxes the needles pointed to arbitrary numbers.......but once they powered up they were fine.
Work great, awesome peak/hold warning features and affordable.

I like my own pair of Prosport gauges (see thread in this section for what I did with them.) The needles point at 0 when off and seem to be working just fine for me, and I have the oil temp and pressure gauges as well.

i have them also. im now having problems with the boost gauge looks like it may be the pressure sensor thats off but it has a one yr warranty so it should be covered.
i gotta send it to them.
+1 on customer support

agree with all of the above. They back their product which is a big deal to me. I guess everyone has seen their new center speaker gauge pod as well. If not:

ya i have a couple only using the boost and EGT right now fuel will come soon. as far as how the gauges are in my opinion you get what you pay for, but thier customer service is A++. my boost gauge is off by varing amounts dependent on ambient temp it seems anywhere from 0-1.5 psi. the EGT gauge works it takes a min to warm up the sensor and the response isnt instant but then im compairing it to aircraft EGT speed too so ???? these vehicle egt's may just be slower cause of the type of sensors maybe a different sensor would be faster. btu they work and do thier job without breaking the bank

Are the K-type probes supplied with the Prosport EGT open, or closed element? Presumably closed, but you are correct that an open element would respond faster.
However I'm not sure exactly how long your gauge is taking to respond, even a closed type probe should closely follow the engine's condition, roughly 1-3seconds behind.....

I haven't tried the prosport digital gauges, but FWIW, I've used other digital display gauges before and find it hard to adjust to viewing the gauge, reading the number, processing if its good or bad. A needle type gauge I can immedeatley identify as inside or outside of where it should be...but thats just my feelings - thuoght I'd share though :)

Is it true that you now have an affordable wideband gauge? I have an LC-1 and don't want to pay the $220 for the XD-16. I assume it accepts the 0-5v signal from one of the analog outputs.

I'm also curious about something.
Someone mentioned to me your EGT gauge's have a 0-5v output for datalogging. I wasn't aware that they have this feature (unless he's wrong) but could you enlighten us? Your site doesn't seem to indicate taht they do.

AFR gauge- Yes our stand alone digital AFR gauge for $65 does read 0-5 volt, so if you already have the LC1 it will read from the output signal and work. :)
EGT gauge: No, it cannot datalog. The premium series (peak/warn) can recall the highest level attained and fully programmable warning buit into the gauge but no datalogging.
Is this the only wideband gauge you currently offer?
http://prosportgauges.com/digital-air-fuel-ratio-and-volt-gauge.aspx
Are there any plans to have a WO2 gauge available in the other styles/series?

Yes, we will have a Wideband with a pointer in our Premium Series (peak/warning)to be released in about 60 days.

better option . . .
I have the STRi X-Line water/oil temp, boost, fuel/oil pressure. Smoke lens amber lighting.
They work well.
But I wouldn't say they are better quality. For instance no connector between the gauge and the sensors: You have to twist and protect the wires. Also no ground: you have to ground them yourself with additional piece of wire. So not so clean in the engine bay.
But at the time I purchased 2 years ago they were the best for the price, no discussion.
That's for the cheap X-Line.
The DSD line is much more high range (equivalent to defi I've been told), but double price than prosport (at least here in Europe), but also twice less than defi!

I don't know about better.. By looks of it, it could be the re-badged version of Prosport...
I recently got a premium version Prosport gauge and I'm very happy with it. Fitment was really nice on the steering column pod because of its low mounting depth... and I like the dual illumination.. At night it matches the interior lights and during the day it lights up white.
Watch the video that I took.

I just installed my prosport boost gauge, but i had some issues with the clips from the sender to the gauge. It was loose in the back of the gauge and won't lock in tight. I got it working, but it was a less-than-elegant solution. I just didn't want to ship it back and hten have to wait for a new one.

OK, so this is a Premium series boost gauge? because the opening is small on the back of the gauge it may need a small screwdriver to push the clip all the way on till it locks in place. Can you send us a picture directly to our email sales@prosportgauges.com

+1 for Prosport. I broke the little clip that plugs into the gauge installing mine a couple years ago, went down to the office and they gave me a new one.
Only issue i've had is that the boost gauge seems to read 1-1.5 psi low,and rarely sits at 0, but I mounted the sender in the engine bay in the pass side cornor so perhaps I need to relocate it or get another sender....or both.
Prosport Gauges

Yeah, it could be your sender got wet, or dirt/fluid got into the sender. If it has been several years you may want to consider a new sender.

Do you live at a high elevation above sea level (i.e., Denver/mountains)? If so, that may explain the 1~1.5 psi lower readings. Your gauge is reading absolute pressure, so as you go up in elevation air is less dense and ambient pressure goes down. If your gauges were calibrated at sea level (i.e., reads 0 when engine isn't running & gauge is powered up), you can expect them to read less than 0 (a little vacuum) when you at a higher elevation, and all boost #'s would be lower as well.

I live in FL, no elevation factors... But I'll prolly stop by the shop when I go home to pick up some parts. I'd like to get some of the 45mm gauges for a custome panel...the 52's will be for sale.

Prosport Gauges,
I have a Oil pressure gauge (premium) in my RX-8 that is a couple years old and it went out, I am pretty sure it is the gauge itself and not the harness or sending unit. I really do not want to pull all of the wiring out but then again it could be the wiring as well. Is there anyway I can just send the gauge itself to be tested?

I have a number of prosport premium gauges which I'm happy with however their product line is incomplete.
For those wanting an aftermarket Speedo, check out Speedhut gauges. Programmable or GPS speedos.
http://www.speedhut.com/gauge_products.asp?auto=revolution
They also have a programmable fuel level gauge.
Basically, they've got the full suite of gauges if you're looking to replace. Sure, they probably don't sell as much of either compared to a boost gauge, but in the business world we call these complimentary products. Obviously it can make the difference between a customer going with said brand or not.

Yeah if they had the fuel level I would be redoing my whole dash. But the lack of it has forced me to start looking at glowshift (ewwww) because they do offer a fuel level gauge. I read some where that prosport gauges and glowshift gauges are made by the same company, seems weird one would offer a fuel level and the other would not.
