Make sure these products are FD specific please. That being said...
All of these thoughts are for a street FD that is still on twins.
I would say the best things you can do to an FD is open the exhaust and intake, and install a Power FC. Make sure you increase your fuel(walbro or denso supra FP and 1300cc secondaries will be suffcient) and upgrade your intercooler if you start to turn up the boost. Where does it in? haha.
Favorite Intake: M2 or custom fabricated(as long as it has a heat shield and ducting for air)
Favorite Exhaust: HKS Carbon ti, great tone, looks good, and is very affordable
Favorite Midpipe: Custom with borla XR1 welded in
Favorite Downpipe: HKS, best fit hands down. Sure it's made of mild steel, but I have had mine on my red car for 8 years without an issue.
Favorite ECU: Power FC, easily installed and keeps your engine from going boom. Very user friendly, especially thanks to people like Chuck Westbrook and Wargasm.
Favorite spring/strut combo: Eibach springs with Tokico 5 way Illumina's
Favorite dual purpose street/track coilovers: Tein Flex/HA
Favorite SMIC: M2/ASP Medium, or custom. Same thing as long as you have proper ducting. Bar and Plates are not rocket science.

One of the worst products I have used was the Greddy Profec B Spec II. On paper it looked great: Two boost settings, a cool blue display, warning and auto boost limit, boost display in both metric and standard units, etc. Maybe it was because it was one of the first ones in the country or something was wrong with it, but I could not get it to hold consistent boost. In back to back boost tests I would get something different every time. I spent about a month messing with it before going back to my old Profec B. I wish I had gone with an SBCID or DSBC instead. Further, I later found out that the Spec II "may have trouble with fast spooling turbos" I had a 35R at the time. Find it funny that shortly after they released the Spec S. Anyone else haver problems with the Spec II?
2nd worst product was the Apexi N1 Dual exhaust. Again, on paper it looked good: Twin aggressive looking outlets, removable silencers, high temp coating on the piping. In reality it fits like crap, melts the rear valence, sounds terrible, and rusts. The best thing that ever happened with it was when I ran over something and bent one of the canisters. I gave it away to some kid and replaced it with a Greddy SP.

Best:
- PFC & DL
- A-Spec GT35R T3 1.06 AR kit.
- Racing Brake Rear BBK
- Enkie RP01 9"X17" 17 lb wheels
Best: PFS SMIC
Rarest: HKS Elbow
Worst: Pettit unlimitted that never worked on mine: solid 7psi boost, no second turbo. I guess I was the unluckiest on this one. Then I bought a knightsport.

Best:
Bought a Profec to control spikes and creep. It kept the engine from going boom until I could figure out what was wrong with the car.
Worst:
Bought an Ebay strut tower brace. Does nothing.

My RZ is stock, apart from the RX-8 horns and the Xenon headlights.
Both are ace.

Best= Toss up between my PowerFC or the RE Dolphin tail muffler (IMO the best sounding muffler for the FD)
Worst= Has to be the PFS purple box that came with the car. I bought the car not knowing what the time was. But after some research realized what a POS it was.

Best: Ebay intercooler, turbo kit. Less than $1400 and good for 400HP. Don't let Ebay scare you.
Worst: The car came with Jimlab suspension bushings which I changed back to stock after an agonizing, tortuous year of squeaks. You needed earplugs to drive it.

Best: Padded JDM console box in place of the ash tray. Why MAZDA never offered those to us directly is beyond me.
Worst: An engine torque brace, the style with the phony 'shock absorber'. I had to adjust it almost weekly to keep it from rattling. Hello Noltecs...goodbye ETB.

Weird, I can't remember ever putting a bad thing on my car, or rather, something I ended up hating. Just about everything I've put on has worked, aside from my AVC-R giving me problems, but that could be due to bad vacuum routing haha.
I have the Ebay engine torque damper and I noticed a difference right away.
I have the padded console box in place of the ashtray and I LOVE it as well (everything you put in there is more accessible and it seems like there's more room).
I love the RE VMIC (I don't even run my fans anymore, at least while I'm moving haha, and my intake air temps are pretty low too)
The GReddy Ti exhaust (super light and with a nice deep tone)
The STANCE coilovers (kinda stiff on bad streets but I deal with it)
SuperPro bushings, RB sway bars (much stiffer with sway bars and bushings are quiet and ride great)
Power FC (so easy to use and my tuner is still amazed how much you can do with it, I was his first PFC and he can't wait to tune more haha)
Single turbo (GT3767S, .70 comp and .68 turb) spools amazingly fast and I have a nice smooth powerband.
Enkei RPF1s, they're so inexpensive, light, and look great too.
Things I don't notice so much, good OR bad, are the toe links and trailing arms, fuel kit (you won't really notice til something goes wrong haha), Twin Power (same as the fuel kit).
I've do and have done quite a bit of research before I get something so there's a better chance of being happy. It's worked out pretty well so far.

Closing thread.
Old crap.
Nothing new added.
To the dumbass who wants to stir up shit: you've been warned.
This is a TECH discussion.
Heresay is not enough proof.
If you're gonna back your claims, put up the proof.
Accusations and slander gets you no where.
