Thought I would post this up here.

I picked up a 85 RX7 with a few nice parts on it, with the rest of the car needing some paint and interior work. I was considering getting rid of the car, but I think I am going to keep it.

The wood grain steering wheel and shift knob is sexy. That has to stay. The door panels are going in to be recovered here hopefully real soon. Oh yeah, no cracked dash.

Suspension and diff....
I received it with a fairly decent street suspension. Tokiko 'blue' struts and Racing beat springs. It also has a Gsl-se rear end (with the diff) and disc brake set-up. Also with the gsl-se shit is the 4x114.3 lug pattern rather than the retarded 110x4 shit.

Under the hood is a newly built 12a with a pretty decent street port on it. The motor now only has about 3k miles on it. Attached to that little motor is a sexy Racing Beat intake manifold and a Racing Beat prepped holly 470cfm carb. Under that sits a Racing Beat header leading into a sweet Racing Beat 'street port' exhaust. I hate the looks of the canister that is on the car right now so I will be changing that soon. (it does sound sweet though) I think I am going to either get the racing beat twin chamber exhaust or maybe do something a little different which I saw on RX7 club. Not to sure.
All of the rats next and all of the other retarded shit has already been removed. I have a mallory fuel pump and I need to get a regulator and then that shit goes in. Right now, I think it is leaning way out after about 6k rpms. Either that or the shitty plastic fuel filter is collapsing....which would cause it to lean out.

So what are my plans for it...
*I plan to redo the entire engine bay. There are tons of extra wires from where the emissions bullshit was pulled out and I would like to just get rid of all of that all together. Hell, today was the first time I have had a chance to really look at the car since I have had it, and I pulled out a ton of shit before I took these pics. Also, I am probably going to order a Ron Davis radiator or there is also a copper one from rx7.com which I might get instead. My wallet will probably decide that one.

*The interior for sure needs to be redone. The rear will get gutted (it already is in the rear, I am just going to clean it up a little) I think I am going to put in my Bride seat that was in my old Civic while I was living in Japan. That seat was nice.

*Get the body fixed and the car repainted. Thinking of going either white with a black hood or flat black. Not to sure. Im not talking about a rattle can paint job, i'm gonna have it shot professionally. Before it gets painted I want an old bitchin wangan wing.

*Wheels, I want some SSR MKII's or XR4's. (hint, anyone have some for sale? 14" or 15")

*Suspension/brakes, ReSpeed makes a bunch of things for it which I wanna get. I will be ordering poly bushings for it, strut tower braces and maybe coilovers to replace the springs. ReSpeed also has a kit which you can convert to 4 pot turboII brakes which I wouldn't mind getting.

This is sorta what I am going for

Haha! Nice find! What did it run you? And why did the PO sell this? It seems like a solid car!

You are deff a step ahead of the game, because it takes some cash just to get to where your car currently is!

Maxx, thanks. After having it shipped from Florida to NC, I have about 2 grand in it. I think I did alright. He sold it because he is working 7 days a week and has another RX7 I guess. I really took a risk buying it. I was still living in Okinawa (Japan) and was on my way back to America. I bought it totally sight unseen other than pictures and a video. I got it from Rotary Budda on rx7club. I always told myself if I were to get into rotaries, this is what I would like to have. And I found it just the way I would want it. Now its time to make it 'mine'.

EMC, I plan to get rid of those wheels here within about a month or so, if your interested.

so you used to live in Japan? Were you stationed there, or are you Japanese? You seem to speak good english! What brings you back to America? I'm another one of those people that want to go live there for a little bit to see what it's like btw, in case you didnt figure it out! :D
