I want the gasket that goes between the S4 turbo and manifold. In fact, I would be interested in buying two of them. They need to be new or hardly used (maybe installed but never used on a running engine) and they need to be metal. Doesn't have to be OEM, but it's kind of a special part so I don't know if anyone else makes them. Looking to spend about $35 shipped for two of them or $20 shipped for one. Let me know what you have.

I'll wait a little while to see if I can get a better price.

Well crud. I was hoping maybe someone had one they weren't going to use... Come to think of it, I should check my stash to make sure I don't have a spare. 90% sure I don't, but I could be wrong.

I'd be up for a used one if they aren't ready to fall apart. The idea here is to only have to smash it once and never pull the turbo until I rebuild the engine again... but obviously that didn't work the first time. I'll be looking into ways to prevent it from happening again. Changing these gaskets is such a pain in the ass.

edited, now possibly irrelevant post:
I sent payment three days ago, but mzrx7man (from RX7club) is not responding to any messages nor has he contacted me with any information after I paid. I need this gasket by FRIDAY (two days from now!) so I can install it and run on the dyno Saturday. So I'm in the market again. Since I'll probably have to pay out the ass for shipping, I want a new gasket. Who's game?
Oh, and, it will be a couple days since I have the money in paypal for this. I didn't foresee getting ignored by my supposed seller so I wasn't prepared to shell out a lot. Kevin (RR) should know I'm good for it. I'll submit a chunk of cash to paypal right now.

I would have gone for the $45 one on here. The sellers are good, easily accessible and apparently they hook it up!! Last time I tried to get that same gasket it cost me $55 from Mazdatrix.
I learned this the hard way:
Paying a lot less for something usually yields a LONG waiting time.
Paying retail or a little more often times yield a part within 2/3 days.
I'd rather pay market value for something and receive it one time than wait one month for 1/2 off.

I'm cool with that, I need it. I would loathe messing up this dyno day.

I would like a form of shipping that could be dropped off, but I should be available to pick it up around 5-7pm when it's back at the shipping center. Oh, and Fedex is evil for me because their closest center is 50 miles away, which I can swing if I absolutely have to... UPS??? USPS??

If one of you guys ships me a gasket, if you have any 3/16" teflon or nylon tube I could use 6-12 inches of it. I'd throw in another $5-10, you name it. I need some for my MBC, the old lines melted and I haven't been able to find ANYTHING suitable to replace them.

I've been using one of these with a small hole drilled in the wastegate side:

Vac line won't fit on it real well, it basically requires that something be compressed in the ends so it seals. I am about to go to Lowes to see if I can find another way to do it though.

I just heard from my original seller, he says his daughter was hospitalized. This will be put on hold for now, but if I can't get a tracking number by midnight tonight I will probably go ahead and order a new one overnight from one of you guys.

I found some 1/4" OD poly tube at Lowes that will definitely fit (really, really cheap, too. $1.70 for a 25' spool or $.07/ft). As long as it will hold up to the heat it will work fine.

I use silicone vac line to butt up against the MBC, I just have to have two 1.5" insert pieces to connect the compression fittings to the silicone lines. The silicone is secured with fuel line clamps. I think I will move the MBC a little farther away from the LIM/exhaust though, because it's pretty warm down there (plus I brilliantly put a finger in the fan...). I ran some tests tonight and it ran well, a bit unpredictable, but not dangerously peaky. I assume at least some of that is because the turbo-mani gasket is blown.
When I found that poly line at Lowes I realized that it might have been the same exact material as the previous setup had on it (I had bought the whole MBC and silicone from someone). It held up fine for months until the rebuild began its life running really retarded and the turbo glowed brightly.

Well it looks like I may need another gasket, and now I have a two day driving school this weekend. $70 right here for the first guy who can get me a new S4 turbo-mani gasket, I'm at 50014. I'll throw in another $5-$10 if necessary. I'm leaving town for the evening, but I'll be back on here tonight.
