Well I decided to go watch the local KING OF THE STREET event and make a few passes in the mix. Was shooting for a 6.9 and missed the mark by a good bit. Needless to say! First pass was a 7.6 @ 95mph 1.7 60, 2nd was a 8.1 @ 95 mph 2.0 60 and 3rd was a 8.0 @ 99.5 mph (nice 2.3 60 footer!) Added a little more boost each pass and they all felt good. the last pass I was smiling all the way down thinking I cut a good time but I spun way too much out of the hole and it hurt the time more than I figured. This was on 19-22psi. I was leaning it out each run as I was seeing mid 10's (afr's) on each pass. I still think I can pull of the 6.9 once I get it all figured out. But was not very plessed with the times but the car atleast felt solid and powerful...

I hope soon. I really do not want to add any more boost until I get the 60's down. I have some new Q16 race gas I ws going to go tune on next week and raise the boost up to 26 or so but dosnt seem worth it just yet.
crazy thing is I went 7.8 on stock twins and motor, went 7.5 with stock motor and 40r turbo with 16-18psi, now with ported motor 4094 turbo and more boost and is not adding up just yet!
Post up your slip and mods list and I'll add you to the Top 25.
Sometimes it's just getting back into driving that affects the times and not necessarily the car. ;)

yeah, I defintley need more seat time to remember it all. Heck, I was cutting better 60's on my street tires back before.. lol

Hey again i posted in the other forum but i like to talk racing!
Your going to find the combination its a different setup and its going to take seat time to get a handle on it!
On the smaller turbo i launch at 7800 and its into boost as i leave the line you may have to go higher you will just have to see. I would drop et pressure to 15 psi and go from there. I would not go as lo as eric as it gets funney op top but in the 1/8 it probley wont be bad.
A 6.90 1/8 is in the 10's 1/4 mile. But i ran 7.001 1/8 and ran 10.8 @ 127mph.
keep us posted on your times as i might go to the same turbo as you have ive about maxed out the 62-1, plus im pulling for you and zinx we all run about the same!
Good luck on the next trip!

Hey Mike, what kind of tires are you running out of curiosity? I'm sure your times will drop next time out. Besides, you still have plenty of time before the SFS event in October :D

Hey Brent... I am running ET street's.. I am going to try and make the import race in MAy at Steele if I get this car dialed in to some good numbers. But I plan to run a Davids event also. Dont plan on winning anything unless they make some differant classes. But there is no way I can run with 900-1000 rwhp supra's!

Let me know about the Steele event. You should also come up to the IA meet in Nashville in July. The devil is in the 60 fts. I am getting around 1.95 60fts on 215/60-14 BFG DRs with about 200whp. With your power and good tires, you should be closer to 1.50s.

1/8th or 1/4? How was the competition last year?
85rx-7gsl-se
04-24-2008, 12:23 AM
^ I didn't attend last year and it was at a different facility. Due to the facilities setup, I think its an 1/8th mile drag on the Speedway's pit road with no timing equipment. Nothing real serious, but should be fun and its a great show from what I hear. I think Phil has been to it before.

Not much better tonight..LOL.. Sorry I did not buzz you to come but I found out they are closed Sunday so it was a last minute call.. Got in 4 runs but nothing to great. I am not sure why but the car was falling on its face out of the hole. I ended up on the last 2 runs just riding the clutch out to help. I was falling all the down to 1500rpms on the first 2 runs. I ended up with a 7.50 at 99mph w/1.8 60 footer. Riding the clutch hurt the 60 a little. I was running 22-23 psi tonight. Waiting till I get it figured out before I turn it up anymore..

No problem man. Ended up going to bed early and went to Memphis all weekend for the Hot Rod Pump Gas Drags. Saw a TT Viper go 8.38 at 178mph and a blown T-Bird go 8.31 at 175mph.

thanks, May be awhile since I lost the motor at the Import Face off! Well I know it was hurt before that. Just finished off. Now I am trying to decide what direction I am going with it. At first I was just going to fix the broke items and put it back together now I am confused it what I want.
I was getting ready to put in a C4 tranny w/transbrake big stall, send the plates of for pining or maybe a complete build..ALS seals and full bridge port=$$ Tonight I am thinking of just going large street port, port matching everything, seals?? Doing it all myself?? I feel I will continue to break motors and do not want to rely on others everytime. This way my down time will be less $ and up to me how quick I get it back out there...
Confused, Mike

Mike i wanted to say something about the rotors you posted elsewere. I would weigh them on a quality scale to see if they are of the same weight. Also you can do your own compression test with a syringe, position the rotors to hold water and use syringe to fill up to the highest position and compare how many cc's it takes. It will atleast let you know if they match. They might have been ok but they just dont look right and arn't the same style. Chin up man!

Do you record oil temps? Were you spraying to lower air temps?
How do you set up your logging to help visualize what's going on?
Here is an example of what I use.
