New to this site; however I am not new to rotary power. Owned a 2004 RX8GT from 07-09. I loved that car and regretted selling it.

Well, here it is 2015 and now the proud owner of a 94 R2 with 55,000 miles on the chassis and 3000 on the rebuilt motor. I purchased the car in Ohio from friends (the original owner was family and passed away) and trailered it down here to GA. I have little to no history on this car as the original owner did not keep records. I do know from his brother-in-law the engine was rebuilt not long before he fell ill. Unfortunately the car suffered through many Ohio winters before it was placed in storage.

I brought the car directly to MazCare of Atlanta and they brought the second turbo back on line, replaced the rusted, pitted leaking fuel line; replaced a cracked master cylinder and gave it a tune up. It seems to run fine now with the usual 2nd-gear-hesitation-but-hang-on-after-that Whhoo-Weeee!

What's next?
Scrap off surface rust and apply POR-15 (Most of the underside was treated by Zeibart)
Replace all (of what's remaining) bushings
Shocks
Replace seats (cigarette burns)
Install undertray (enroute from Ray Crow along with some trim pieces)
I'm sure there is more I don't know about yet

I will tell you all up front I am more of an observer than a participant on these sites (I've owned the car since May if that tells you anything). I am a novice mechanic at best and learn more than I have to offer (not to mention the job/home ownership/other cars allows little free time).

Here are some pix

Welcome. Everyone needs a toy. You just happen to have one that is cooler than most. The FDs are starting to get some interest from collectors so hang onto it, as there will never be another car quite like it.

Now I really need to get another FD that is stock and low mileage.

Welcome!
