I was trying to organize a huge group from Canada to come down, but no one really wanted to commit to it. That early in April us Canadians could still be stuck in a snow bank! I need to talk to Phil about possibly planning 2017 a little later in April. The Rx-4 needs to come back to DGRR! This time it may be on a trailer though. Then I'll throw the Evinrude on with it. Has there ever been a snowmobile at DGRR?

Phil will usually announce when registration begins here soon (before Christmas). Once you have registered, you can book a lodge room or cabin at the venue (Nantahalla Village). There are some people who do camp, but I have no experience. Because I like to be warm when I'm drunk :)

As of this morning, there are 110 officially registered for DGRR 2016.
As of 2/9/2016, there were 209 VW's registered for Wookies in the Woods. Same weekend.
Community is slacking. Interesting to look at their rally support. They have a TON of sponsors, including VW America paying for their BBQ.

3 years ago we had 100 within the first week. It really feels like the enthusiasm has died a lot. I think that some of the drama from a few years ago hurt our numbers the last couple years. And we're a really small community compared to the VW guys I would think.

The OGTA will be there in full force along with a bunch of folks coming up

We also have a special guest we are hosting at the OGTA cabin, goes by the
name Kentetsu on the forums. He's a cancer survivor and wants to hit DGRR
this year. He will be coming down from Michigan, so if there are any others coming
from that way hit me up here or contact him directly on 7club (not sure he's on here much).

Nothing as of yet, just sifting through all the BS I need to de-pin. Also need to figure out a circuit to power the ECU, coils and fuel pump.
Looks like to run the engine I need to keep these circuits:
-AFM
-AIT
-Coolant temp
-O2 sensor
-Fuel Injectors
-CAS
-Ignition coils
-Pressure sensor
-Fuel injector/pump resistor (?)
-TPS

Except I don't have a running rotary. FrankenB isn't running yet and that takes priority over my FC..... I know this is a contradiction in terms, but there should be at least one decent FB there
RX8 - finally got the PS fixed over the weekend but the air filter is fucked, need a new one of those from Racing Beat because damn REVi,
I totally jewed every last cent out of the rear tires and corded both of them
I actually have to pull the engine and replace the front cover because the trigger sensor bolt stripped out and the heli-coil got fucked, so the sensor sits a little crooked and the trigger wheel doesn't line up with the center of the sensor, so it misfires horribly over 7k. Sometimes it's so bad it actually drops a rotor and floods half the engine. Oh, new brakes at both ends
FC - I conclusively found the issues with the fuel pumps and started rewiring all that shit over the weekend, waiting on some 12Ga tefzel to show up and then I can finish that. Also needs hardlines on the WG's, repack the front bearings, remount the oil coolers, reduct the brakes, make sure there's still some life left in the brakes, replace the Aquamist pump head, replumb some of the AI lines, add a pre-turbo nozzle, dyno the thing, and replace the rear tires in that as I blew them off enough that they're bald in the center.
With Frankenb not even started, not having a completed suspension front or rear, and all the other little bullshit things that need to be done with that fucker, yeah, that takes priority.
Plus I don't feel like killing myself on that car AGAIN especially with working 50-60 hours a week..... just don't have the desire. I'd like to enjoy myself so the FC will be sitting it out this year. Fuck it....
And, it's a heated ball massager.

Hoe Shit! Fuck that! Did you add extra grounds and use lots of dielectric grease?
No extra grounds, but I had the greased them up good. I'm going to depin all the clips and scrub the hell out of all the tabs then crimp the female side so the pin will barely fit in. Also going to check the crimps on all the pins. Will probably just flow some solder into the crimped clips for good measure.
If this doesn't work, then I'm just going to drop the damn electric steering for a different rack. Probably use a Mark III MR2 electric motor.

Don't use the solder, it will actually hinder with more resistance.

Why the fuck did I even look in this thread? I knew it would just make me sad :( Not going to make it this year, currently bleeding out on a rebuild on the 8 that won't be done in time, and even if the car was done wouldn't have the cash to make it happen. next year for sure the 8 will make a reappearance!

Just re-crimp if it's loose?

Yup. The crimps aren't what gets loose, it's the connector itself where the contact is made

Final count for online registration.. 197.
I'd say that we'll have about 250 people this year. It started out a little slow, but lots of people registered in the last month or so.
See everyone tomorrow!
