Connecticut $1200. Original owner selling my 1979 RX-7 GS. Runs, but not driveable due to carb problems. 96K original miles. Car is in CT, always garaged. Blue with black interior. Sunroof with moonroof. Body good, needs paint. Photos available.

Here are some pics taken in October 2007. Not much has changed since, as it has been kept in my garage. I have more pics if you give me an e-mail to send them to.

I'll give you a bump. Looks like a very nice car. If I was closer the temptation would be killing me. Not many came in blue in '79. Someone has to be looking for an exceptionally clean SA in the CT area.

Thanks to all for the positive feedback. Hopefully there is someone nearby who wants it. May have to resort to ebay otherwise. Would rather it goes to an RX-7 enthusiast.

I would love to take that off you but the cost of shipping it to california will probably cost more than the car :(

know of any affordable shipping solutions to california?

'cuz CT? Otherwise I'd have beat you to it. Although for another blue car you just might make the trip. :suspect:

Actually he had it on EBay, but it didn't look like anyone met his reserve. Damn foolish of them New England people, as almost everything else up there is a rusted out hulk.

Another bump - I'd love to pick this one up, only thing that prevents it is my lack of garage space. Still need room for my FC & daily driver. That, plus the cost of a flatbed ride from CT to MD to get it home will be too spendy.

Given the condition of the car & asking price, I think this one is a screaming deal as an easy resto project for anyone that can get it home. From the description, a little bit of basic engine TLC (all fluids & tune up) plus a carb replacement/rebuild will get this one back on the road, ready to be enjoyed as-is or flipped for a profit to another owner.

As it usually is.... I have been sooo tempted to just go look at it, but I know what will happen.... I have a Cosmo sitting I the basement and a turbo sitting on the bookshelf.... which is more reason why I haven't gone to look at it....

Where in CT is it?

Just discovered all this traffic. The car was on e-bay for a week. I have since found someone local who might be able to get it back on the road. Thanks for all the interest. This car is no longer for sale.

Good to hear Win. We always hate to see a long time rotary owner leave the fold. If you need a Nikki carburetor or most intake parts I have them, others may have them as well.

Just to update the status of this RX-7.

It was on e-bay once, and sold for the $1200 reserve, but I found someone who might be able to fix it, so I canceled the sale. That is where it is now. Don't know if it can be fixed yet.
