First of all, I would like to thank ALL of you Hardcore Rotorheads for coming to DGRR 2008!

Also I would like to thank all the Vendors for sponsoring and coming out to this TINY event called DGRR... Especially the guys from EXEDY USA.

Well, Like past 3 years, I'm once again in a debate about if I want to organize it again or not:)... I have to say, this year went so smooth, I'm 90+% sure I'll organize it again (pending few minor details). Next year, I'm hoping to bring Jim Downing and maybe Rick Engman to come to our event and maybe give us a seminar about rotary cars... who knows..

Anyhow, I wanted to see how many of you would come back next year...

Good to see ya again.

Yes I would go next year, and I am bringing something special that no one has seen.
I like the new place as it is much nicer, but miss being able to walk cabin to cabin from party to party.

I'll be back again next year. I really liked Nantahala despite the ongoing refurbishing/upgrading.

There is an unofficial interest thread in the Lounge.

Definitely a better place than Fontana... I don't know how many of you heard this story.. but one of the DGRR attendee ran across one of the representative from Fontana and they want us back... I have to say, I like the guys at Nantahala so much better and made my life better at the event!!

I've requested that if they had some of the roads paved, we'll be EVEN happier!! We'll see how it goes:)

We were standing next to the Girl from Fontana , when she was blasting the Nantahala Village  ... Unprofessional to say the least ... we looked at the Fontana place and drove through it , not bad , but I'm kinda diggin' the Nantahala Village , so I would go there again :) ... as far as that Girl from Fontana :nopity:

I'll def be back - I think we wont go so over the top with the cabin though. Paid full price for something that "had a hot tub" nobody said it wasnt installed yet!! The roads being paved would be a big bonus too. I didnt even feel like washing the car since it would just be dirty again the second I had to run back to the cabin!

Phil, I'm def down and should have the FC road worthy by then too!

 Yes Phil, I will be back, Thanks for putting on a great event as usual. I hope to have the other truck finished next year and have a car for Mel to drive the dragon. She wanted to this year but is just not that comfortable driving a standard yet. Hope to see you soon at a B'Ham or H'ville meet.

Yeah, I miss Fontana in some ways. But the place is still there and we were able to go back and take pictures at the Dam and what not. However we loved Nantahala, it was very comfortable and the people there were nice and friendly. Not to mention a hell of a lot better bang for the buck! As far as the woman being unprofessional, I think she realized that they really messed up and was desperate to get the business back. But then again she didn't have to talk to us about another village at the same time. She gave us the business card and we just passed it on. :leaving:

Can't wait till next year. The facilty and food were far superior. The drive to the dragon was a bit long but no bother driving w/ buddies to and from! The only thing was a lack of space for all the cars to be in one area for the gathering but not a big deal! Awesome time! G

I'll be there for sure! I kinda miss some things about fontana, such as having the cabins close together and being much closer to the gap, but then again Nantahala IS a much nicer place, and i rocked that hot tub like none other :D So either way, without question, I will be back next year. Thanks Phil!

^Nobody, we'll all be in jail for "exhibition of speed" or whatever the hell it was you guys got stopped for hah!

Unless something stupid comes up (like going to Japan!!!) I'll be there for another 4 day weekend as usual. The first year was fun and every one since then has just gotten better. I do wish Whatchamacallit Village was closer to the Dragon and people were closer to each other but the service, food and staff are worth the difference.

My first rally of any kind, and I was very glad to be there. Kudos to Phil and all who assisted in last week-end's event. Also, thanks to Steve for his seminar; for a life-long motor-head/hot-rodder/dirt-rider, it was a little basic at times, but I did learn Mucho. Made me sick at heart to see the "casualties", but I'm grateful it was not worse. Wife Carolyn has not stopped telling friends how much she enjoyed it. INFO Sharing: we stayed at a very nice B&B on Santeetlah Lake called "Blue Waters Mountain Lodge", because of late sign-up, and lack of familiarity w/Nantahala...wonderful rooms, very pleasant hosts and staff, great food, and very close to both The Dragon and to Robbinsville. Chk out their web-site, as an alternative.
www.bluewatersmtnl.com P.S.: our '93 BB was the one with the right headlight cover missing. Zoom-Zoom!

I know there are a bunch of people that would go, but don't know about it. I know a bunch of poeple that don't visit forums that would have went. I also think it would be a good idea to have a mailing list and send out some flyers. It would expand the event and let more people know about it. Send a group of flyers to all the RX7 shops, including dealerships and whatnot. This event could be huge with the right marketing. The internet works, but not everyone is computer literate :D.

It does have torque in spade's, nice comfortable ride too, but not something I would want to drive on the dragon with. It's still a pimp car though.

I would have to put stickers that say wide turns on it :D. It could handle the gap, just a lot slower than you guys are used to going hahaha.

The flyers at rotary shops and whatnot is a great idea, I can't think of any reason why any shop owner would be opposed to such a thing.

Hopefully I will be able to make it next year, it sounds like ya'll had an amazing time this year!

I honestly can't stop thinking about how much FUN I had this year , and what I'm bringing next year (3 cars ??) ... I liked the Nantahala Village as well , and I didn't mind the extra drive time to get to the Dragon ... actually , the drive on 28 through the Fontana Dam area was terrific , we drove that way the last 2 days we went up there ... I'll DEFINITELY bring more people with me next year too , as there are more RX7 owners here in P'Cola that have RUNNING Cars now ;) ... can't wait :)

Woot!!!

I am glad we are discussing it again. DGRR 09 will be my 4th year. Its the only event I schedule at work on Jan 1st when my vacation time gets renewed!!!

I am partial to Fontana Village again. We stayed there the first two years (others 3 years) and while it has negatives, the positives outweigh them in spades. Location, location, location.

Damn I love DGRR, and Phil by default ;)
