Some of you may remember me from 10ish years ago on the 7club and teamfc3s, but I'll give you all a chronological autobiography of my rotary past.
My first car was an 86 sport. Completely stock. I never did do anything to upgrade it, didn't really have any money to in high school, just fixed it when it broke, which was only a few times. It had some suspension problems with it that I didn't sort out before my brother bought it from me and somehow made it not run.
After an 87 mr2 (stock) and most likely the worst ae86 in history, I picked up a project 87 tII with a blown engine. The car was already partly disassembled and it came with a giant bag full of bolts, nuts, and washers. And a few boxes of misc parts. After rebuilding the block and getting our back in, the rest of this went horribly. Every part was bad and I'm not even sure the bag of bolts was from this car because nothing fit.
I ended up shelving that one and bought a white 91tII. It had a Mazda reman engine, microtech (circa '02), rb turbo back. Stock turbo. This one I really enjoyed. After some time I developed a leak at the intake manifold. I the process I decided to clean up the wiring. I redid the poor ems ground and didn't think about this effecting things. Ended up losing an apex and as a college student, I didn't have the money to fix it.
That was 2004. Fast forward 9 years (feeling old now) and I'm 2 States North, married, and in a position to get it back on the road. The car is in storage at my mother's in CA. I'll be towing up to Washington and get to work on it. Likely basic port and rebuild to get it going and build another engine considering 13b-re or other. Plan is to set it up for track day/auto cross and weekend fun. I'll be Redoing just about everything with the car. Update ems, fuel system set up and putting a tune for e85 together. Turbo selection depends on the engine and preying I go with but I'm not spring for maximum power. Higher torque and broad curve available down lower. In the end it may be a year or two before is on the road, but I'll be coming to local events as I can.
