FANTASTIC TURN OUT TODAY for what we're now calling the monthly MPH Meet (Mazda Puente Hozz, uh, Hills)!!

Shout out to all my friends who shouted out to their friends to make it out today. That includes you Mel.

I was going to take my usual low quality camera phone pictures, but one of the guys came armed with professional equipment. So I'll leave it up to him to post the pictures. But, as a lead in, we had not one but two show quality RePu's parked together.

The meets for July and August will continue to be the 3rd Saturday of the month, but the game will be raised.

The next meet will be July 20th, so mark you calenders now. Meet hours will be from 9am-1PM. Right after the meet there will be a nice little cruise through Brea and Carbon Canyons. More on that later.

The BIG news is the following months meet on August 17th (mark your calenders now). What I've been describing this as a mini-Mazfest type meet will be not so mini in August.

August will be a full on full on MazFest type thing, only with out the track event. Right now the plan is for Vedors, Free T-Shirts (at least the first 100 anyway), Free catered food (more than hamburgers, hot dogs, and soft drinks), Raffle for Vendor and MPH donations (Victoria Secret Girls are unavailable ;) ), and Best of Meet awards. So those of you that weren't going to MazFest for what ever reason, now you have an alernative the weekend before. And those of you going to MazFest, think of this as a tune up meet for it.

It would, but next months meet might be worth it as the following weekend is Mazfest. So bookend the two weekends, double your pleasure.

That said, I put together maps, etc. for the post meet cruise tomorrow. I think everyone will really enjoy this one.

• August 17th will be a full on full on MazFest type thing, only without the track event.
• Plan on rolling in around 9AM, Raffle and Best of Meet awards around 2PM.
• Right now the plan is for Vendors (Racing Beat among others have confirmed,
• Free T-Shirts (at least the first 100 anyway),
• Free catered food (more than hamburgers, hot dogs, and soft drinks),
• Raffle for Vendor and MPH donations
• Best of Meet awards.
• Mazda Corporate is involved and will be bringing a special “secret” car from their famous basement for display. What will it/they be..Vintage..Concept?? You’ll have to come to the meet to find out.
• So those of you that weren't going to MazFest for whatever reason, now you have an alternative the weekend before.
• And those of you going to MazFest, think of this as a tune up meet for it.

I went by MHP today and saw the "Secret" car Mazda Corporate contributed to the event.

Very very cool.

A BIG thank you to all that made it out. I had to leave before the raffle due to other commitments. But before I left I did a count of cars and I came up with 112. I'm sure I missed some, so I'm probably understating.

Miatas - 44

There were 19 3's & 6's broken down as follows:
Mazda 3's - 13
Mazdaspeed 3's - 5
Mazdaspeed 6's - 1

There were 49 Wanklemobiles broken down as follows
Old Schools - 4
Old School drool car (Renesis Engine for instance - 1
Repu's - 2
1st Gen's - 4
2nd Gen's - 15
3rd Gen's - 10
RX8's - 13

Raffle
There were reportedly some really great prizes given away from the Raffle. I heard a set of tires and I heard from my friend I entrusted my raffle tickets that I won a LoJack. Perhaps someone can post up some of the other prizes given away.

Show Awards
I heard Robert/FC3S91 won Best of Show Modified Mazda in a very tight vote result. I happen to know that he barely nosed out a most excellent Black RX8.
Could someone post up who/what won the other two categories?

The secret car Mazda Corporate shipped over for display was a amazingly cool Motorsport Miata. The hood wasn't open, so I'm sure it was to hide the fact that there was a Wankle under the hood. ;)

And I'll take this moment to plug that this is a get together we do EVERY 3rd Saturday of the month. Vendors, raffles, and T-Shirts we'll probably only do once or twice a year. But you can count on free food and drinks like we had today waiting for you EVERY 3rd Saturday of the month. See y'all Saturday, September 21st. :)

Well, maybe not the awards, raffle, and vendors. But the free food and nice cars will be there again September 21st.

Third Saturday of EVERY month. Same time, same place. Look forward to seeing y'all there.

More than 25 cars made it out.

Next month's meet is the weekend after 7Stock weekend. Think of it as the after party so you can show off your 7Stock prepared wankle car. :auto:

And so you get an additional chance to show off all the 7Stock prep work you did.

Omega's might be making a showing with his award winning race car that's been tearing it up recently.

The RX8 Race car is on display in their lobby.

And as a bonus to your RX7 brothers and sisters, Justin Pawlak will be there with his recently completed 2nd Gen RX7 Mean Green race car many saw on display at 7Stock. Here is a link to his web site: Justin Pawlak

Again, this is this coming Saturday, November 16th

Know that this Mini-7Stock Meet @ Puente Hills Mazda occurs every 3rd Saturday of the month.

Puente Hills Mazda, located on Gale Ave between Azusa and Fullerton Roads across the 60 Freeway from Hacienda Heights (17723 East Gale Avenue Industry, CA 91748), is stepping up and sponsoring a great situation for all things Mazda. Thus the 7Stock comparison, just no track event. This monthly meet has been going on for one full year now.

Again, this is every 3rd Saturday of the month every month this year. If we can maintain and grow the attendance, it should continue through next year and beyond.

Show up any time around 10AM, and no one is expected to leave (but certainly can if they want or need to) before 3PM. These times will be the same for every meet. So easy to plan for.

OPEN BAR BQ with FREE Lunch including Hamburgers and Hotdogs.

FREE soft drinks.

And since this is EVERY month, anyone outside the area with future plans to visiting So Cal wanting to know when and where a meet is, you now have a date to build those plans around.
