Q: Congratulations for being our February Rotary of the Month! Tell us about how you acquired this car?
A: My dad found this car on Ebay in New Jersey and was completely torn apart when we got it.
Q: How did you first become interested in rotary cars? Have you had any previously?
A: I grew up around rotaries. My dad has always been rebuilding them for his own cars and for other people. My dad's rx7 was the first car I ever drove, so I knew I'd eventually want one.... or two... :) My first rotary was my rx8 (which actually won ROTM in Feb 2011 (http://rotarycarclub.com/rotary_forum/showthread.php?t=13537) :) ) I had a FC but had always been more of a fan of 1ts gens so I was happy when I was able to sell it and get this car.
Q: Whats the biggest reason you chose a rotary powered car to modify?
A: Since my dad knows them so well he was able to teach me about them. I like having a car I know how to work on and fix. My dad and I built the motor for this car and so I think that makes it more special actually knowing how it works.
Q: Is this car your daily driver? Do you participate in any form of racing? (Drag, Auto-X, etc)
A: No, my 8 is the daily, this one is just for the weekends or nice days. I do auto-cross it, its a pretty fun car on the track.
Q: What do you enjoy most about your car?
A: Turbo of course! And it's always funny to see people reactions... don't think they expect to see a 25 year old chick driving a car like this.
Q: Do you have any future plans for the car, or any car?
A: Not really, might do some small improvements but nothing major for a while. I'll always have big dream plans for future rotaries but nothing in the immediate future.
Q: Any other hobbies besides cars?
A: Photography here and there but nothing serious.
Q: Anyone you'd like to thank?
A: Well, this car has kinda been a group project of the middle Tennessee rotary community. We've got a really good group around here and a lot of the guys have helped out with this car... wiring, tuning, painting, body work, everything... we worked really hard to get it ready for DGRR (http://rotarycarclub.com/rotary_forum/forumdisplay.php?f=42) last year and there's no way it would have been ready without all of those guys. Of course the biggest help has been my dad. He's the best, no way in the world this car would be what it is without his help.
