I'm probably going to regret this, but I'm putting the REPU up for sale. New job and other stuff coming up, so I dont have room for this anymore... prefer to sell locally to keep in the state, but money talks.

about 2k miles on rebuilt 13B 4-port motor by C&C of Murfreesboro.
Owned for about 1.5 years. Only put about 1k miles since I've had it.

White w/ black interior
no kids, no pets, non-smoker
Fairly new carpet kit, in good shape. No wear marks or holes.
Rides firm, but very controlled.
Steering pretty tight. Very little play or wander.

Since purchase, I've done the following:
Rear end FD LSD upgrade
New rear leaf bushings
New brake lines all around
New front upper ball joints
New front sway bar bushings
New front idler arm
New KYB Gas-A-Adjust shocks all around
New rear brake shoes
New sliding rear window
Factory A/C (not hooked up yet, but working on it)
New Carter fuel pump
Relined fuel tank (professionally done, not a backyard job)
New fuel hoses
Upgraded to FC alternator w/ internal regulator
Recovered door and kick panels w/ new vapor barrier.
Has Volk TE37X rims, but will remove for lower price.

Can include a few other things if price is right:
Axxis Front brake pads
Outer tie rod ends
Lower ball joints
Mazdaspeed steering wheel (no hub though)
Racing Beat Power Pulse air filter assembly w/ K&N filter
Racing Beat dual belt alternator pulley
New clutch master and slave cylinder w/ SS line
New tail lamp lenses
Extra window crank handle
Extra door release handle

PM me. I'll try to post pics asap.

a couple of notes:
engine pic - repu will not come w/ the fuel pressure gauge, power pulse filter assembly, or dual belt pulley.

interior - i did not install the kick panels yet in this shot and a different steering wheel will be installed.

bump for a sweet truck! I really miss here.
Everything posted about her is true. She is a good truck. We did build a 4port so she is a 13b 4port like factory.

Jeff, make sure she goes to a good home.

Love the truck, in fact Im looking at a similar one locally right now. Yours is def. nicer (but more $$ and too damn far!)

thanks!
i'd also need to mention that it has a 5MT trans and just filled w/ Royal Purple. Shifts smoothly w/ no grinding in any gear.

WOW! Nice truck!! Tempting... but my wife will kill me if I bought something like that!

thanks again for the compliments! i'd love to keep the truck, but my new job requires me to have a 4 door, so the REPU would have to magically turn into a crew cab. haha... also, with my 510 just about complete from the restoration, the repu would probably not get the attention it deserves, so i would like for it to go to a good home.

Hello

Humm, thinking of adding it to my collection. Have you done more work on her such as connect the AC or put in the door panels yet? Was she originally white? How is the battery box, all parts there?

Regards

Max

the ac hasn't been installed yet, but hoping to put in the underdash portion of the unit within the next week. lines will need to be found or made.

door panels and kick panels are in. not really a whole lot more needs to be done. maybe center link, lower ball joints, and bed liner would be the small things that i think it still needs. o yea, the fuel gauge needs a look. it doesn't read accurately, but i think contacts just need to be cleaned.

orig color was green. so not original paint.

battery box - as far as i know, its complete. i've heard all kinds of stuff about sliding battery trays, battery hold down straps, etc, but i've never seen an OEM one.

ebay, of course!!! i think it definitely adds a little somethin somethin to the overall vintage feel of the truck.

there hasn't been much interest. i guess i'm asking too much...
so i'll keep it for now. stay tuned for updates as work will continue to improve this bad boy... work to tighten up the steering and suspension more will continue, the a/c will get plumbed, and spray-in bed liner. still open to offers though!

How about a trade (truck and cash) for your truck? ?

repu510
07-08-2008, 12:51 PM
thanks for the offer, but i'd rather not trade. from what i've experienced so far, the cars that get offered are valued unrealistically. there have been a few guys w/ FDs and FCs that think way too much of their cars. while i dont dispute the "perceived value", fair market and common sense just dont add up. on the reverse, some people think i'm insane for asking the amount i am for my repu. i can go on and on about the rarity, but i dont want to cause debate over it, so i'd rather pass and spare us all.

Completly understandable, just figured I'd throw the option out there.

Zach,
You should have bought this when I was selling it.

Sweet Truck, wish I could afford to get it back.

you know the saying, "everything has a price." but i will warn anyone interested in making an offer: its in better condition than when i bought it, so lets not waste each other's time w/ low ball offers.

Nice truck man!!

Now i had a few questions and i figured id ask here. Since you have a well built REPU, do you think your car could handle towing a Rx8 to track events?? I always wanted a REPU and would like to get one for this reason. It be nice to have a old school towing a new school... Sorry if this is wrong place to ask..
Thanks
Diego

Towing with a repu is no problem. It is the stopping you have to worry about.
We have used a tow dolly on a repu several time and for long hauls 8 hours one way. We also have had a 18ft flat bed trailer on a repu with a 1st gen rx7 on it. Alot of the repu's had between a 4:10 to 4:62 rear end.
If you had a tow dolly with bakes on it and a brake controller on the repu I would say very easy. Tow Dolly with no brakes just remember to keep a margin of distance for that emergency stopping.
I know of a company that is trying to develop a kit for the turbo II brake caliper to fit on to a repu. That would help alot.

Economy is killing everyone. I have been spreading the word as well.
I hate the depression we are in right now. I took a $1800 hit on my bike and cant really sell a few other things that I would have had no problem selling two years ago.

i think the negotiable part implies to make a reasonable offer and we can talk. the range i would like to see is around $7000-7500, but i agree, in this economy, most people can't swing that kind of coin for a used truck like this unless they were a real fan and could appreciate all the little details and uniqueness of what this repu comes with.
