Negatives
· No a/c. (from the factory).
· Rust hole in behind rear left wheel. Only rust (or beginnings of rust) on the whole truck is behind the wheels in the fenders. All external body panels are solid.
· Heater door control cable/selector is broken. (plastic gearing behind the knob is broken). Replacement is in the truck but not installed.
· Blower motor resistor only works on levels 3 and 4.
· Tear in center of bench seat. (will include seat rails to add basically any other seat with minor welding).
· Will need new front CV axles soon. They click during turning in 4wd. ($60 apiece).

Notable

166,000 miles. As far as I know the drive train is original with no rebuilds to the engine, trans, or transfer case.
No leaks noticed at this time (concrete driveway for many months).
Clutch and transmission are in good working order, no grinds.
No major body damage noticed. Rear tailgate was dented and recently replaced with another tailgate which only has 1-2 small dings. Rest of the vehicle has only minor dings, if any. Paint is not peeling but there are numerous small chips/scratches indicative of a 21 year old truck. If my pictures do not capture them I will be happy to take close ups.
Added LSD carrier from 30,000 mile 2006 Rx-8, filled with Mobil1 gear oil. I believe the trucks had an option of a locker from the factory in the US, but I believe it was a very rare option. I have never seen one in person or on the internet. In the aftermarket, people have used the s4 clutch type, but I believe mine is the only one to have used the Rx-8 carrier. Basically it is a TII Rx-7 size straight axle. It works great though I have not taken it off road. Both front and rear axle ratios are 4.33. (only 4wd manual trans models received this ratio).
4WD and automatic locking feature functioning properly (vacuum operated actuator).
Replaced rear tires in November. Fronts in good condition.
Former owner replaced ECU and all four injectors
Front grille plastic and headlight trim has been replaced with new factory look aftermarket trim.
Front sway bar bushings have been replaced with energy suspension bushings. End links/mounts drilled to accept larger more common bushings as well.
Engine bay fuel lines replaced to/from fuel filter and engine.
Have seat rails from ext cab which provide base for future aftermarket seats.
Have universal sunroof pulled from junkyard Bseries… in good condition needs new seal (truck does NOT currently have a sunroof).
New catalytic converter (passes TN emissions).

Sigh. Yes, the plan was to cannabalize the vert for the driveline and use a modified trans to keep it 4WD. It has been done before and is definitely possible if someone can fab up new motor/front diff mounts and piece together the driveline. I hate being that guy that states his lofty plans and backtracks ("hey bro i'm gonna build a 4-rotor in my carport"), but as usual things change and I've decided to keep the vert for a while. Plan is to get some sticky tires and autocross it a little more. The truck has been awesome and served its actual purpose, just time to move on and hopefully/maybe let someone else try the swap.

Drove it to Chattanooga last weekend. Performed like a champ.
