This has been a slow project due to limited options for the driveline but today we made some progress since we have some ideas for that little dilemma.

Today we strengthened the frame some more since the extension was made and finally added our FD seat, whatcha think?

are you going to use the 303cc sachs single rotor that came in various snowmobiles in the 70's?

Ive actually seen the Sak's engine on a generator. A friend of mine had one years ago.

as a generator engine i bet it was good on fuel- one of my friends has a 70 something arctic cat sled with one and its surprisingly better on fuel than my (much larger displacement) two stroke sled- of course not as fast but still a fun little engine

^ Yes, this so true. Rotaries are fuel efficient when run at a regulated/constant RPM which is why they're well suited for small applications. We have a nice generator at the shop run by a Sachs that's large enough to power a house.

My buddy actually wanted to do the same thing and put it in a go-kart but never did because he's a slacker. I think he ended up selling it to someone though.

CoUgH! cOuGh!! This is coming from the guy that strips his car down every year to clean bolts  or builds an entire car instead of rebuilding the engine in his current car?? ? :)

HEY! I like a clean engine bay..... and yes, I have hauled th engine just to clean.... and?

At least I should be in a rotary at this years DGRR... that's what's important... and mom can have a 'vert for Mothers Day.

And I have reasons for building the Turbo 'Vert as opposed to rebuilding my engine.... if I rebuild my car, the 'vert will be put off for a THIRD year... and the FD for a FOURTH year.... as sad as it is... it's time to put the FC on hold for a bit. She's nestled comfy in my garage in CT, on jackstands.... where every good rotary feels at home

Alright, getting closer. Another weekend or two and we may have it ready!

Since the last set of pics we got a few more spots strengthened on the frame, finally made a decision on the drive assembly (i think, lol) and received our new axle/bearing-set.

Slow progress but it's getting there. Should be ready for the gap, the official burden carrier!
