Hi,
Trying to track down someone that's recently made a powerglide to cosmo (either 13b or 20b) bellhousing.
i've only noticed a couple of companies on the net and have sent them emails but no replies just yet.
Would anyone know of someone that makes them?
I want to retain the standard bellhousing and starter motor combination seeing though I already have them. I am aware that I will require a custom stall converter too.
Thanks

It's probably going to be much easier to just use the Chevy bell and get an adapter to bolt the full Glide trans to the engine. E&J (http://www.eastcoastparts.com) has the Chevy/rotary adapter.
You could adapt the Mazda bell to the Glide, but you'll need either a cut down Glide case or an aftermarket case from JW, Reid, etc. The big issue is going to be the length of the Mazda bell being correct for the input shaft of the trans. I've thought this swap through a bunch and what I always thought would work best would be using all Chevy parts; flexplate, converter, starter, etc. It would cut down on the custom nature of things a ton and makes replacement parts much easier to come buy and less expensive. Need a new converter in a pinch? Just order anything that fits a SBC.
Give Edgar at E&J a call or email him. He's a great guy and will help point you in the right direction.
Another resource would be Lowe Performance. http://loweperformance.com/ Mike Lowe is a rotary guy from way back. Had a lot of success with the PG when a lot of the guys on this board were still in diapers.

Didn't SR Motorsports offer a plate to do this. Here is a link to FB Performance they have PG's for rotary engines. http://www.fbperformance.com/viewtrans.asp?TransmissionID=67

Thanks guys.
I've sent off some emails. Here in Australia we were lucky enough to have on some models, the bellhousing bolted onto the actual transmission casing itself so it's quite easy to change the bellhousing as required and have a stall converter made to suit. No need to cut it away like the ones in the USA.

Kennedy Engineering in California makes just about any adapter you can think of. I have one to fit a 13BT in a Porsche...

Its amazing that these people advertise the powerglide with rotary adapter but simply aren't interested in selling the adapter by itself... pathetic and so fucking annoying.
