First things first is to see if you have power on the positive side of the coils when the key is on. Also check for voltage when the key is in the start position. This is overlooked quite a bit by people modifying the ignition wiring and end up find a 12 volt source but it cuts off when the key goes to start.
The amount of voltage you have will depend if the dizzy is still a points dizzy or if it has been swapped out for an electronic version. If you have a points dizzy then you should see a pair of white ceramic rectangular bars. They will have threaded studs on each end. 12 volts goes in one end and the other end goes to the coils. This is to cut the voltage down in order to not burn up the points.
Once you know you have voltage at the coils and have determined the style of distributor let us know.
Also, you should be able to find a wiring diagram at vintagerotaries. Here is a link: http://www.vintagerotaries.org/index.php?showtopic=38
