Hello, my name is Michael. I am very active over at Rx7club.com, so I decided to finally join RCC.
One of my favorite things to do over at the other site is read the introduce yourself threads.. so it's an honor to post mine!
Ever since I got Gran Turismo 1 as a teenager, I have always loved the FD, but my rotary fascination didn't start until about 6 years ago. I happened to land a smog technician job at a smog shop directly next to Rotorsport (http://www.rotorsport2.com/) in Santa Clara which started it all.
I always kinda thought Rotaries were unreliable engines, and was very proud and arrogant about my 240sx I had at the time. One day the owner of Rotorsport (Paul) approached me about buying an FC that a customer abandoned at his shop. He wanted to get rid of it asap because it was taking up a much needed parking space. So, $500 later, I had my very first FC:

After fixing some leaks, and hallowing out the pre-cats, she was good to go. My plan was just to keep her as a back up car for when and if my 240sx ever went down. However, one day I felt adventurous and decided to take her over the hill where I frequented with my 240sx; I thought it wouldn't be as fast or fun as the 240sx. WELL GUESS WHAT? It was not only fun as heck, it was actually a little bit faster over the hill than my slightly modded 240sx!! A short while after I went to jail for a couple months.. while in jail I needed funds fast and knew I had to get rid of one of my two cars? Guess which one I got rid of? :coolgleamA:
SOOO, after I got out of jail, first thing I did was start to mod the FC, and from there it was just one FC after the other.. SO LET THE MADNESS BEGIN!
#2 '91 NA Vert. (no pics sorry). Realized I hated the car, so quickly gave it to my brother and then eventually sold it to my friend. Verts just aren't for me.
#3 '86 NA, with molded body kit and professional sparkly purple paint job on Momo rims:

Got the car for $1000. It had some issues like leaking oil cooler lines, vacuum leaks, and bad injector seals. Regardless of all that the car had a ton of NA bolt on parts and a rebuilt engine. I didn't like the car though because it had it's 5/6 ports wired open, and just looked awefull to me. So after I fixed all the issues, and took what I could in NA performance parts, I then sold the car to a friend. The friend then traded the car to another friend who has it to this day.

Bought this car for $2000 in S.F. Car ended up having issue after issue (including lots of under body rust). Eventually during the middle of one of it's many issues, I got stuck due to not having the parts or time/place to work on it. So I sold it as is to a guy. Said guy finished it up but had to return it to me for not having the money to pay me what he owed.. so I ended up trading (plus cash) it to another friend of mine. Who eventually sold the car to his friend. I believe the car is is currently for sale YET AGAIN on craigslist lol.

Traded my white TII (#3) for this one. Let my gf drive it because she crashed her FC and the one she got to replace it was a piece of junk. I eventually traded it to a friend for another FC

This is THE car that made me appreciate FCs. The previous owner was an employee who worked at Rotorsport. Every day when I came into work I got to look at this beauty. He took such good care of his car, and put so much genuine performance parts on it. He would always say he would sell it to me for $4k. Way out of my budget. Then one day about 4 years later, after not seeing him for a couple years; he sent me a message on myspace saying he'll take $1000 for the car cuz he is just no longer interested in Rx7s. I bought it THAT DAY! This car is my absolute baby! It is now S5 turbo swapped with so many goodies it is silly!

This is the car I traded #5 for. My girlfriend liked the idea of having a Vert for auto-x so I traded the coupe for it. This car has had some problems but I finally got almost all of them fixed. It will be for sale VERY soon.

This is my current daily driver. My friend went to the Air Force and asked me to watch his car while he was gone for 2 years. I said sure no problem. Well about 6 months in he needed money fast, and asked if I would just buy the car off him since I had the title and everything already. So for $700 I got permanent possession of this car. It is a GXL so it makes a great daily driver, and the problems have been few and far between and easy fixes.
Well that's my story. I will always be an FC3S lover forever and ever. Currently I still own 4 of the cars I listed:
#1 - My down on luck brother daily drives it (until he gets his own car).
#6 - My super fun time car.
#7 - My girlfriend daily drives it.
#8 - My daily driver.
