I had throwing around the idea of building a Locost 7, which is a home built car that is based off a Lotus. I am leaning towards rotary a lot. I was going to use some of the chassis parts from a FC. I was wondering how well a Renesis with the 6 speed trans will work. I thought about giving it to my dad so I want it to have good driveablitly. any thoughts?

Plenty of people have done rotary Locosts. I've thought about doing one myself. The Renesis might be a nice choice (if a bit pricey) since the side exhaust ports will cut down on noise somewhat.

Is it lighter then a S4 or S5 N/A with fuel injection?

Don't know. Might be a bit lighter simply because the UIM is plastic. The S5 NA intake is a heavy sucker. But I'm guessing there's not a whole lot of difference.

no sense using FC suspension, if thats what you meant.

wishbone up front, and either live axle or wishbone rear. yo.
circle track stuff should be just fine for a DIY wishbone setup.

should be a great setup with the Renesis. i often wonder what my 8 would feel like if it were much lighter!

i would imagine getting it wired and all functional will be a bit daunting, but if you're good with that sort of thing, then perhaps not. i think you should go for it.

I haven't looked into it as much as I wanted to. I have no space to build it and my welder is at my parents house. Using parts off of production cars that are easy to find helps keep cost down. I am saying I want to use a Rx-8 engine which Isn't as cheap as a 13B or 12A. what do the circle track parts cost?
