Hello all. This is the first car forum I've joined in years; it seems to be cool here.

About me:

I'm an autocrosser of 8 years about to start road racing. Racing came natural to me as my pops also used to race mud trucks with my mom when I was a kid. I've worked on cars all my life (my daddy taught me), though now it's more tuning than just repair since I got smart and started buying imports. ;)

Before I got into Mazda I was a Chevy girl, owning a lot of classics and hot rods including a 66 Nova, 56 Chevy shortbed, and 79 Trans Am. I went thru a stint of mustangs, owning an 88 convertible and a 96 GT.

When I got tired of fixing the Mustangs all the time, I came to know Mazda. An ex bf of mine had a 91 Chaste White fd. We worked on it all the time. lol I fell in love with the rotary overnight and wanted an fd so badly, but no credit and the age of the fd did not allow me to secure a loan for one. My then bf mentioned that the new model MX-5 resembled the fd, so I bought one and fell in love with Mazda. I've been buying only Mazda vehicles since then. it's the "zoom-zoom" factor that keeps me coming back. :)

Here's my list of Mazdas that I have owned through the years:
Previous rotary vehicles:
1974 REPU
1984 RX-7 converted to GSL-SE suspension/brakes
2004 RX-8 Touring

Previous Mazdas:
1999 MX-5
2001 MX-5
2002 Protege5
1999 MX-5 10th Anniversary
2006 Tribute
2007 CX-7
2007 Mazdaspeed3

Current:
2010 RX-8 Velocity Red Sport (the daily)
1999 MX-5, track prepped (the bf's car that I race :D )

Other random stuff about me:
I love to play sports and am a fanatic about health and working out. I play racketball, volleyball, and table tennis. I love football (Go Horns!) I am an artist, into video games, computers (IT tech), anime, and photography. I'll talk your ear off IRL, but make u LOL most of the time. :D Feel free to ask me anything, I am an open and honest person.

I look forward to chatting with some cool rotary peeps, as there aren't hardly any out here in the desert. I am currently deployed to Afghanistan which, by the way mods, is the reason for the foreign IP address.

Pce.

Welcome! Quite the list of Mazdas. I'm deployed right now too, just not the same place. Be safe over there. I'm sure you'll be buying a lot of parts too, that's what I always do with my deployment money haha.

Thanks! Yeah I am trying to keep most of my money for a house, but I do plan on spending a little on my 8. I gotta get those garbage Tein springs off it (sittin higher in the rear) and put on some coilovers. Some lightweight wheels are also in order and maybe a few other small suspension/chassis things. I'm about the handling. :)

Yeah I bought a house before I deployed last year and I told myself this time I was going to use the money to do mods on the house, but alas I am buying more car parts LOL.

What coilovers and wheels are you looking at?

Welcome Mazdaspeedgirl, its great to see more and more females interested in the marque! They were few and far between back in the 80's and 90's.
I look forward to seeing and hearing more about your cars, especially the rotaries! zoom zoom!

Welcome and good luck on your deployment. Always good to see ladies into the rotary thing other than sitting on them and getting their picture taken lol.

haha yeah this is my first deployment. weeee!

I am thinkin about the Ohlins street/race coilovers I found on goodwin racing's site. I've narrowed the wheels down to 949 Racing's 6UL-Rs.

Thanks for the welcome. :) Yeah it's been about 12 years since I discovered these tiny powerhouses and I don't foresee losing interest anytime soon. ;)

I could post some pics, but I am unsure of the rules regarding posting pics (other than no n00dz) and haven't taken the time to dig around the site looking for those rules. Mods?

Thanks man. Luckily my base is relatively quiet.
Yeah, I'm not one for posing on my car, but I have pics of some sexy ladies on my cars. ;)

Oh, enjoy your 1st then haha. This is my 7th. Aside from buying parts it'll probably get old soon haha.

Ohlins...how I want some of those. Good choice. 6ULs are nice too. I thought they were only for Miatas though.

As for the pics, you can post whatever as long as it's not nude, yeah. And as long as it's not racist, but it's not very often I see a racist car pic haha.

Even better, a female getting other females to pose on their car LOL. Nice.
