I'm in the process of depowering a S4 power steering rack. Does anyone know how the two bearings in the control valve assembly shaft are removed? The FSM is vauge to say the least. I can't tell if the bearing down by pinion plug is pulled out past the pinion plug threads or bushed back into the body. If pushed back into the body does that also then unseat the roller bearing and oil seal midway in the housing? Again in all it's clearity the FSM tells you how to reinstall the roller bearing and oil seal but doesn't actually tell you how to remove it. Any help would be greatly appreciated?

TitaniumTT has a good writeup on the full de-power process on here somewhere that covers this process. Unfortunately a lot of the pictures are no longer showing up. I know at one point I found an "internet archive" search engine that was able to find an archived version of the thread with some of the pictures but unfortunately I can't really help beyond that. Maybe if we all bug him enough he'll re-host the pictures :)

TitaniumTT's writeup for those who find this thread - http://rotarycarclub.com/rotary_forum/showthread.php?t=7900&highlight=steering
He doesn't ever specifically mention either of these two bearings. He might be talking about the oil seal that's pressed in after the middle roller bearing at one point but it's hard to tell without the pictures. I'll ping him and see if he did anything with these.
