A few pictures of a recent 10A drive-train build/restoration.
Many parts on this build were NLA so they were either fabricated from scratch or modified from 12A's. Lots of headaches, powder coating, polishing and machining.

First unveiling at a local Mazda show and the owner took home three trophies..

I should not be looking at this. Just makes me see what my R100 could look like if I restored it.

How about some details about the car and its build?

The car was restored 4-5 years ago but the new CT owner being a paint pro was not satisfied with the exterior, he stripped it down and re-did everything.

Interior is all original, seats reupholstered, dash mint, all accessories work perfect.

Transmission build was ok, some parts are a direct swap to early courier trans.

The short block was a bit more complicated.
All the irons were pitted, 10A rotors dont have a key-way for the oil rings, oil pump was missing, springs, bearings , springs , gaskets etc are very difficult to find at least here in NY so most of these parts were custom made.

24 Side seals make starting very slow, the 10A starter spins very slow and so on (reduction gear)...its a very old engine. But its all in a days work.

Rebuilding the carb was fun, again finding parts.
The distributors were gutted and rebuild using 2nd gen crank angle sensor parts making it electronic. You can barely notice the mod...

The owner has already gotten a few folks interested in purchasing the car.

not sure if he is selling the car but someone at the show found it so attractive that he just had to place an offer.
