View Full Version : Rare FD and Driver Combo Spotted in Alabama!
While it's rare to even see an white FD driving on the road, it's even rarer to see a white FD being driven by a 70+ year old lady....
This photo was taken yesterday around 5pm going South on I-65 right before the OakMt exit South of Birmingham.

Damn!!! I want!! But what I could tell, I think it could be an auto...
I've seen another one like this driven by an older woman off of 280..

Haha. Thats pretty funny. The FD does appear to be in good shape though. What catches my eye the most is the width of the rear view in the first pic.

Focus on the car Robert.
Big mirror. Aftermarket (Work esque?) wheels. Could be a son, grandson, or great grandson's car. Hopefully for Robert's sake granny knows how to shift gears...

I saw a very similar situation a few weeks ago.
It was a white FD, spoiler, sunroof, tan interior, Florida tags. 2 older lady's (65+) just cruising along, heading west on I-24. I wanted to flag them down so bad, but resisted the urge. I think I was heading over to Paul's, because I remember telling him about it when I got there.

Phil, what makes you believe its an auto, besides the driver? Its definitely a 94, base and more than likely an original CW. Interesting!
On the subject though, I have a 73 year old customer of a stock 93, red/tan, touring with automatic. Its all stock and I just perform maintenance on it. He's the original owner and he still loves it an thinks "its just the fastest damn thing". I think that folks like these are awesome and I hope to be the same when im 70+!

My roommate has seen old people around here driving FDs, at least two different times anyway. There is an 85 year old guy that used to come to our meets every now and then, he still has the 3rd SA that was sold from the dealership here back in 78, original owner. I haven't seen him in a couple years, I hope he's still alive haha. He is pretty cool.
