looks like factory is a 1/8 BPS and sender 1/8 NPT

Yep, Mazda likes to use 1/8" BSPT for their oil pressure senders. It IS NOT the same as 1/8" NPT but adapters are easy to find (McMaster). As far as accuracy goes I'd assume it's accurate enough for whatever use you have in mind considering it is the location Mazda decided to put their unit.

YES - the Prosport sender is 1/8"NPT, the hole Mazda threaded into the rear iron is 1/8"BSPT - you will STRIP the threads if you try screwing the Prosport sender directly in there. Buy the adapter.

u can fit their sender o their 1/8 bsp adapter. sender is too long and that adapter might effect reading.
im using and adapter now on the back of wp housing right under ecu thermosensor and the reading can be as far as 20* off, comparing haltech temp reading to prosport gauge

We are talking about the rear iron water temp location correct? Unless I'm remembering incorrectly I have taken my Prosport temp sender and screwed it into the rear iron water temp location. It screws all the way down without ever catching. My engine is in pieces, next time I'm messing with parts I'll do it again to make sure.

^I may need to leave work early today. If that happens I'll check again, but from memory my Prosport threaded onto my S5 rear iron without ever catching or tearing up threads.

Off compared to what, you Haltech sensor? Where is that and how do you know it is accurate? Just playing Devil's advocate as different sensors in different locations are surely going to read differently.

haltech sensor is new and makes more sense in reading as opposed to prosport. and it was literally right above prosport sender.

My apologies, my Prosport temp sender DOES NOT thread into the OEM rear iron location. Again my apologies for the misinformation. I have no clue why I thought I remembered that???
