With the racing gen 1 RX7 that I recently purchased came a box with (3) Nikki carbs. How can I identify which years cars they're off of? Is one year more desirable than another? I would like to find a Sterling Nikki but not having much luck. Thanks in advance!

by no means am i even close to an expert, but i think i have seen a few ever-so-slight differences in the Nikkis over the years. that said, i don't think there are any years that are more desirable than the others - at least, i'm not aware of any. as for the Sterling Nikki, it appears that people that have them tend to hold on to them, so i'm not surprised. also, according to his site, he hasn't been taking orders since December.

Thanks diabolical1! I'm afraid that I'm out of luck with the Sterling. Just purchased an RB wrap around with a Dellorto 48DHLA. Also considering an RB with a Webber 48IDA. I'd like to see what the differences are on the track.

if you want the Sterling, you can always put up a WTB ad and see what happens. just be patient. the pop up every once in a while, just not often.

the 48 DHLA is a sweet carburetor. i had one for many years and it served me well. as a matter of fact, whatever carburetor tuning experience i posses, i owe mostly to that Dell'Orto. that said, i had always wanted an IDA to see what it was like running one.
