I'm far from a newb to RX-7s. Just new to the forum. Just surfing around it last nite gave me a nice feeling about the atmosphere projected here unlike some of the other forums where its a bash fest most of the time.

I've owned my current RX-7 for almost 15 years. 1988 GTU. When the engine puked out the last time I didn't have the time, money or motivation to do anything to it besides part it out. Luckily I was to lazy to really try and sell parts of it. That was 4 years ago that I parked the car and pulled the engine. Recently I've been looking at Miatas and Boxsters but I need a car with a back seat so my wife suggested a normal sedan or suv and that I should fis the RX-7 as a weekend play thing. Gotta Love that woman for even saying I could fix the RX-7. So I am. Found a car in the Atanta are that's a stalled project with a rebuilt engine and some performance parts. Hope to get the car in a few weeks and be on the road to RX-7 recovery.

Hey herblenny. We've meet at Luis's before. The carb shop one night when I was working with Luis on a screaming 12A. My car was the one with the skunk stripe(i was younger when I the stripe was added). Black with with stripe and a supra style wing. The wing came in handy when the car stopped running. It was like pushing a shopping cart around walmart.

+1 for wife understanding and allowing to have our "toys"

Welcome to the forum and good luck on rebuild. U should try to make it up to Deals Gap Rotary Rally in April/May.

I affectionately refer to my wife as "the war and finance committee"

I'd love to make the event. It will be pushing my mental timeline I've established. Maybe on paper it will look better.
