Very intriguing that you would ask this question, most people who are interested in converting the headlights look into the Re-Amemiya FC2000 headlight conversion or a clone of that bumper type, it gives room to upgrade the rx7 factory headlights to projectors. I'm personally completing this conversion on my fc right now, and I'm going to use hella bulbs for the replacement headlights with custom mounting brackets. www.rallylights.com sells some suitable replacements for this. The other option is to switch out to Chaser aerokits carbon fc hadlight buckets that replace the factory flips.

There is a vendor making replica East Bear conversions & there was another set by SuperMade along with some crappy Ebay shit. Also the above stated FC2000 front nose/ light set ups & a few similar to it.

Originally made by RE Amemiya, but I think Shine Auto makes a replica.

 when did this start? last time i looked for non pop up replacements it was pretty much impossible to find and gave up. Is this something that just came about or what? Who is making them.

The stationary headlight conversion bumpers have been available for YEARS. It just takes some research and coin.

Personally I ended up with the FC2K bumper from shine. The original RE-Amemiya version is equal quality, but Shine's material is stronger....

^ The East Bear reps look better & I think the price was better. Don't quote me on the price. Those remind me of the Supermade lights I posted above.

They were cheaper, I grabbed a set of the Eastbear reps, I believe they were $350.00 in the group buy.

I am doing the head light conversion on an 86 RX7. And wanted to know what to do with the headlight motors and wires. The simple thing would be to remove them but they are wired into the harness. Not sure to cut and cap the wires and if that would cause electrical problems?

How's your headlight conversion project? We will be working on a RX7 right after we finished installing the new rack and tonneau covers (http://4wheelonline.com/tonneau-covers.222468) on the current truck project. The owner is considering to use hid headlight.
