Glad it is a little later this year. Weather should be slightly better. Sad it is still at NVNC.

Can't wait to register. Now to just get a car, and put it together.

Sorry DJ... I just don't like Fontana.. NVNC are more accomodating.

Remember... it was NVNC owners who pushed to get the US129 open for us this year... REALLY! Fontana wouldn't do shit like that.. All they care about is to nickle and dime us to death.

I know Phil, and you know I'll still be there.

Whether in a rotary or not.

Kinda depends on what you're looking for... with a forum mod, you can auto update / refresh the signature with javascript. To rotate an actual image the only way may be to create an animated gif, but color quality inst usually too great with gif images. You may be able to make animated png images, but the file size may be huge, and not all browsers support them. So it's definitely doable... but you may need a way to create a different add for each persons banner.. Not imposable though.

Ok the Mitty is the same weekend which normally I would blow off for DGRR.

But now I just read the announcement on Grassroots Motorsports that the
marshal of the Mitty is Jim Downing and the marque is Mazda. Also there will
be a number of historic mazda race cars shown as well.

http://grassrootsmotorsports.com/events/Mitty11/

I was all set to do the DGRR but now :dunno:

djmtsu
12-17-2010, 04:31 PM
Uh oh, that means alot of people will go to the Mitty instead of DGRR.

Maybe reschedule DGRR to one of the earlier dates??

Herblenny
12-17-2010, 08:37 PM
OK, I realized there are several of you considering going to Mitty...

I didn't not realize this and I myself am interested going to Mitty.

Since DGRR date was just set, I'm trying to get in touch with NVNC to see if we could move a week ahead. If so, DGRR will continue a week ahead or announced date. If not, I might cancel this years DGRR.

t_g_farrell
12-17-2010, 08:48 PM
First off, I apologize for pointing this out. If you can work it out to an
earlier date or later one, that would be sweet. If it weren't for the historic
mazda people and cars at the Mitty this year it wouldn't have been an
issue for me personally.

If not, don't cancel DGRR, as its an iconic event just like SS, but on the
east coast.

djmtsu
12-17-2010, 08:53 PM
If not, I might cancel this years DGRR.

That just doesn't make sense.

I know I will go to DGRR over the Mitty. If they can't get you in a week ahead, no biggie.

2gslse
12-17-2010, 09:37 PM
NOOOOOO!!!!! don't cancel DGRR it can be done almost anytime. (if you hold it they will come) the mitty may affect turnout because some can't do both but a lot of people make this the only event to do every year.

estevan62274
12-17-2010, 10:35 PM
+1 don't cancel DGRR!

Herblenny
12-17-2010, 11:02 PM
LOL! I just said that in worst case scenario as I would like to check out Mitty... if its as glorified as what I hear about next year.

I have called NVNC and shot them an email about locking it a week ahead. I'll let you guys know asap.

Phil, the weekend before the announced weekend is Easter. If DGRR is moved to Easter, I won't be there.

Screw Mitty, if you have DGRR during Easter Barry won't come even though there's no better way to celebrate the resurrection - Jesus would approve!

+1, Easter weekend is a non-starter for me, will have family in town. If DGRR '11 has to move to not conflict with Mitty, a week later might be better.

t_g_farrell
12-18-2010, 10:04 AM
I think you either have to have it 2 weeks or more earlier or 1 week after or not change it.

What's a "Mitty" anyway? The only Mitty I ever heard of is Walter Mitty in a James Thurber story.

At this point, I'm planning to stick with original set date.

I can't do it the following weekend...

Well, At this point, I'm just going to say forget Mitty... I'm going to stick to the original date. What we could do is we could try to goto Mitty for one day on Sunday as a big rotary group from DGRR XI??

Actually, the more I think about it, the more I like the thought of a Rotary show of force at the Mitty on Sunday. I'll already be in for a 26+ hour drive down anyway, so what's adding another few?

Interesting idea... Haven't looked at a map yet, but how long of a drive is it from DGRR XI to the Mitty? It will make my return trip to MD a bit longer, but what's a few more hours!

Nantahala Village to Road ATL is 112 Miles... or as google says 2 hours and 11 mins.

Pending weather, I'm planning to do this :)

PinkRacer with all the snow on its way to NS today, do you think it will all be melted by the end of April ??:o10:

The fact that the DGRR is pushed to the end of April will help us up here in the Great White North to come down. I'll start a roll call to see how many ClubRXQuebec members want to come down.
