So working on the GSL-SE, I cant imagine that my ports are opening due to my exhaust system. 2.5" from the factory manifold all the way back with a high flow cat. All the emissions are still intact. If this is a correct statement can I operate them with the air pump? or should I just wire them open? Thanks

I say we race, lol... then you'll know if they're opening!

This is for 2nd gen's, but it might work for 1st gens.

I tried to wire mine open but it is not nearly as easy as that sounds. I tested the actuators with a ~6 psi shot from my compressor blowgun. Since they snapped open nicely, I just found and fixed the leaky hose coming from the exhaust. If that didnt work I was going to go the air pump route.

Yes it is that easy.

Even with the actuators held open (hit w/ air, then crimp hose to hold pressure) I couldnt get them secured well enough to stay open. Did you remove parts of the intake to wire them? Do I have abnormally large hands?

You should remove the actuators. Then you can turn the sleeves by hand, and tie them off in the open position.

^ thats what I did on my FC years ago before going boost :)
Only issue is that they dont turn easily if they're stuck, which is what my gsl-se's issue is which means I have to take off the entire manifold setup and pull them out to clean them...
I'm debating about even putting them back in!
