I have a 1988 GXL the 13b is getting tired, and the tranny synchros are going out so instead of rebuilds im just going to start the 2JZ swap.
.. im going to be doin a single turbo 2jz. AS of right now im gatherings parts and am looking for any information that anyone has about this swap.
I will be fabricating almost 100% of the parts myself..
Info Needed:
2JZ dimensions
Pics of crossmember
2JZ and where it sits with stock hood
etc
(thanks in advance for any help)

That's one, big, heavy engine there...
Inline 6 is not going to help either.
Potential to make gobs of power, but I'd rather let the Supra / SC / Soarer / IS / Cressida guys get first crack at it.
Hey, if it floats your boat, go for it...

why not just do an LSx swap? easier IMO.

Only way i am ditching the rotary is if another jdm engine goes in place.

You hate electrical, and yet want to do a non-Honda/Nissan swap?
If looking at wiring diagrams gives you a headache then either buy a Supra or pay someone to do the swap. It's not that bad, the hard part is figuring out where the wires get routed.

All said accessories will work regardless of whats goin on in the engine bay. My old 89 GXL had nothing but the alternator wire and of course the battery connected. (It was carbed BTW)
Edit: The tachometer will need to be connected and that is easy. All FC's have a single wire test connector on the driver side somewhat in-between the starter relay and the Clutch slave cylinder. It is yellow and has a female bullet style connector.

When I fit a 2J, the problem is the deck is about 3/4 of an inch higher than the 1J. This is why I went 1JZ because I did want to keep a sway bar and keep the oilpan out of the rocks, and also keep a stock hood.
The body harness and the engine harness are 2 completely different things in response to your last question.
