Just wondering if 99 spec turbos can be used as stage III core.

yes they are good for cores for a stage 3 build up. I will not use the abradable comrpessor housings for the stage 3's. The nylon insert doesn't have enough meat to fit the larger compressor wheel, plus the nylon insert unreliable anyways. Take it easy.

Is there any advantage to using a 99-spec for a stage 3 core?

The only things is the turbine housings have added nickel to help with the cracking isssue.

That is good to know. But is the housing being nickel really worth the extra money compared to a good set of 93 turbos? Either way, I definately see a set of BNRs going on my car sometime in the future... :)

No its not worth the money. When I build the 3's, I radius all the sharp corners that are proned to cracking. If the 99's are leaking or have problems, then they would be a great core to use for the conversion.

What is the turnaround time on a set of stage III?

Great info! One thing im wondering is if its a good idea to cyro the turbine housing to make it stronger to stop cracking? Also, If the housing is cracked should that not be used for the upgrade? Thanks!
