:willy_nilly:

From The RX7club. I have owned rotaries since 18. Owned an S4 GXL, S5 GTU, S5 TII, and currently working on a GTUs turbo and an NA GTUs. I'm going to make a thread about the cars later so I'll go into mods and pics in those.

Dunno what more to go into. Been permabanned once from the evil forum, and I'm currently back there under this new name. I was on that forum since 2002 and I don't like the way it's changing. This place looks promising, I love the layout too. :coolgleamA:

I don't like stupid people, I love the rotary and don't hesitate to tell you what I think. I EXPECT to be corrected when wrong and I value input so whatever you have to say, just say it.

Here is the latest rotary related excursion:

I got pulled over yesterday.

Light turned yellow, I was going to be blocking the intersection so I made a right instead. I did it, and accelerated away. the tires chirped, you know, when you turn and accelerate the rear makes noise. Well, there was a cop right there and he pulled me over.

Asked for all the stuff. Asks why I turned like that. Went on about how a 2500lb vehicle is hard to control especially when the tires break loose like I had done earlier. I told him I didn't wanna block the intersection so a I made the right. "it was a bad judgment call on my part."

He went on about how I'm not mario andretti and you never know when the tires are going to lose grip. Told me it was a 2 point violation, car could have been impounded and a $700 fine but he'd let me go.

No ticket.:willy_nilly:

So, here is the real point of this post. I always make sure the cop sees my hands at all times ( I say it makes them feel safer and not so :suspect: ) and he when he asked for my license I told him I'd have to reach into my jacket to get it since I thought it was in the breast pocket. You know, the breast pocket, where cops freak out and :68:.

My wife says I didn't need to say: "I have to reach into my pocket to get it" and wait until he said "go ahead and get it." She says it's weird and unnecessary since he asked for the ID already.

I say I'd rather make sure he knows and allows me to reach into a pocket than be shot at. Who is right? I''m still glad no ticket was issued.

wow... I'd say you did the best you could, and it couldn't have gone any better than it did save him just not pulling you over in the first place. He probably pulled you over because you made a sudden move while a cop was present, it's suspicious.

did redr1 send you? :squint:

Thanks though. I can't wait to get my project thread and add as much as I can to this place.

I gotta get used to this place more though. No more random :rlaugh: smilies for me, gotta learn the new one. I keep wanting to say: "here look at this link" but it's on the rx7club so i stop the post. That place WAS my second home for a long time. I've gone through, several FCs, girlfriends, a fiance and now a wife and the rx7club was always there in my browser getting me into trouble. A GF even came in to start shit (which Meddle loved BTW, that prick) and I never left because it felt like home to me. Then the new landlord (IB) came in and here we are. settling into a new, comfy home that looks and feels like the old one without all the BS.

Me and RedR1 are COD4 buddies. He is freakin entertainment to say the least.

I hate to say this, but if it was physically possible, I would literally burn the EVIL forum to the ground.

I don't know man, it's the teeny-bopper rx7 forum now. Rather than look for ways to make the club better, they seem to be trying to make it worse by making excuses for those that aren't trying to better themselves or their vehicles. I thought about burning it down in a way but it's not fair for those who get their info from there. The only thing we can do is say thanks for all those years, time to move on to better things.

As far as redR1. I didn't want to tell him my old SN to keep the haters off my nuts (mainly the mods who hated/perma-banned me) but I've known him for a long time and have had good times with his sick sense of humor and open sexual escapades. He owes me a Beer at 7stock but I need others to come with, I'm scared of roofies.

Welcome Phoenix! I remember you from the other place... good man!:seeya:

we need a general kills section...:18: No please no. No kills section. I think the stupid shit we do on a daily basis should remain private. No over-glorification of illegal racing and dangerous situations. I know that we've all done stupid shit but sometimes you just gotta keep it to yourself and avoid posting blatant illegal activities on a PUBLIC forum.

I see the kills section as a place to go give the young (at heart also) a hard time for glorifying nonsensical actions.

I agree that a lot of stories posted are very stupid, either simply because the OP refuses to make sense, tell the truth, or type legibly, but perhaps what we (everyone) need to do is redefine what is actually stupid. Not just pointless, not just wasteful of gas and in a 'quiet' area (God forbid a car could actually make some noise once in a while. People move next to a highway then bitch about how noisy it gets? *rolls eyes*), but unsafe. So unsafe that it is significantly more risky than driving the same path with less acceleration and probably lower speed. Law enforcement is NOT out to protect the public, especially traffic enforcement. Yes, some unsafe activity and a few proven unsafe individuals are pulled off the road, but that is merely a side effect of enforcing the numerous and unnecessarily strict traffic regulations. Don't forget the countless people who get screwed by the system, either. Cops enforce when and what they want to. If you're a good cop, that simply means that you choose to enforce when it's most appropriate.

So what if you happen to line up at a stop light with an Integra at a HUGE intersection and 20 cars behind you, no cars turning into your path, and no cars ahead for at least a quarter mile, not even coming from the other direction. When the light goes green you both rev enough to make for a mild launch and take off at the same time. You both run through second gear then bring it down to the speed limit and cruise until you hit a red light, at which point you briefly discussed a couple details about your cars, then go about your own business.

How stupid would that be? How unsafe would that be? Would it be measurably less safe than taking off at the light at Joe Shmo's pace, only to have all ten cars right behind you tailgate? It could have been described much less safe, for example what if the test had been taken up near/past the triple digits and if there was more traffic in the way? What is so wrong with discussing an event like that, unsafe or not? You don't have to like it, you don't have to encourage it, and it presents an opportunity to instruct people for their faults and encourage them for their strengths.

Also, some spectacular/exceptional kills involving more rare cars are just plain hard to come by via legal means because A) the car's rare and B) what are the odds you'll meet up with one on the track? Yeah, it happens, but no, not to everyone. It can be really fun to read about those exceptional cases.

I don't mean to crap on this thread, I just don't see a good reason that kill stories can't have a place (and therefore stay fairly well contained as well).
