JKL Racing Engineering
02-24-2008, 02:11 AM
We saw many interests in the RE-Amemiya AD-GT widebody kit project so we figured that we should step in and help fellow customers out. We are planning on producing replica of the complete RE-Amemiya product set-up, including AD9 hood, AD-GT WideBody, N1 Facer Front Bumper ( 05 model), Canards, Undersweep, CF Add On, and Side Generators. We will need a minimum of 8 deposits of $500 to get this thing rolling. It will be a $500 deposit regardless which part you decide to order. So if you want the whole package it is $500 or if you want a hood it will be $500. We are guaranteeing fitment and quality. Once we have the 8 deposits production will begin and will take approximately 3-4 months so you'll have time to save for the remainder of your balance. The first 8 people that send their deposits will get an additional discount on the kit on top of the GB price. We want to reward these people are willing to put their faith in us.

Front Bumper (05 Model) (Flexible FRP) $550.00

oh yeah, my bad, i forgot to add them. I will post some pics of the kit I found online and everyone else feel free to chime in and add some pics you found.

Just to clarify, we have not ordered this kit from RE-A yet, now is just interest gathering. We will order it once we see enough interest! So let's get this going, I know many of you like this kit. :D

Yes, $1500 is the complete package for all the items listed in the first post. We can offer CF side skirts if you want, they will be real carbon fiber, not overlay. :)

JKL Racing Engineering

We won't know the international shipping prices until the project actually starts. We will be making the fenders out of regular FRP, the side skirts will be made of flexible FRP, and the front CF add-on will be made of CF.

We also accept special orders on any of these parts for different materials. So just feel free to contact us if you are looking for something different and we will try our best to meet your satisfaction. :)

What about the carbon fiber piece that goes just behind the front tires? If a front bumper is included with the group buy, I should be good to go for this. Of course, it also depends when this will happen too. The sooner the better I think, before I change my mind and throw my money at the motor!

JKL Racing Engineering
03-11-2008, 06:40 PM
well, the CF piece is the "CF Add-on" we are referring to and it will be included. The front bumper will depend on how many interest we get on them. This project can happen as soon as we get 15+ people interested so we are pretty much just waiting to see more people jumping in before we go ahead and purchase the original kit. :D

One thing we want to clarify is the $1500 price is only for the widebody kit and it does not include the bumper.

Sorry for misinforming you Chris, but the 2005 does come with the undersweep. The only difference is that it does not "wrap" around the bumper like the 02 undersweep. If you look on post 30 of this thread, the blue car is a good representation of the 05 bumper and the yellow car is the 02 bumper. Again sorry for the confusion.

Looks great so far. Any fitment issues?

Everything is fitting perfect with little to no modding. The only problem is with a small corner of the head light covers hitting the fender slightly when the lights are opened. But I figure that RE A made the kit to work best with their sleek headlight kit. Also I the signal lights on the front bumper didnt fit very well but that was easy for the body shop guy to fix.

If you really want a rushed order, we can rush an additional sample kit for you. So you will be getting a sample kit which means we will not be able to guarantee the fitment but we will guarantee the quality. The fitment will be exactly the same as original RE-A parts since we use brand new RE-A parts directly for molding. So if the RE-A parts have minor fitment issue then your parts will do so too. That's totally up to you! :)

JKL Racing Engineering

our carbon is black in color and plain weave for default choice, but twill weave is also available. It is then coated with the heat and UV resistant clear coat.

JKL, is there anyway I can come down to SF and check it out first. Maybe pick it up while I'm down there too. I'm only a hour and a half away. (sacramento) Like I said the car is in the body shop as we speak, so that's something we might have to do.

JKL Racing Engineering
07-11-2008, 03:59 PM
As many customers may already know, we are not in-house production based so all of our products are manufactured in a professional factory located in another state. SF is our storage location where we store all of the finished products and ship them out. :)

CarbonFD
07-11-2008, 06:08 PM
Just to add for you Mototek I am sure if you pick up a sample kit there wont be any fitment uses that a body shop would not be able to easily adjust while its on your car... The JKL guys are just goin above and beyond by taking the head ache out of it having to be modified like any other kit you might buy so it can basically be a paint and bolt on kit. Which in my opinion is pretty freaking bad ass. They are not only going to adjust the old ones for better fitment but are making it Flexible which none of the RE stuff is which will make it less prone to cracking... So even the sample kit you would be getting is still a step up from the original RE stuff because it will be flexible. Im going to be jealous if you get a kit before me :(

Yea, I'm really stoked, the car is "vintage red" right now, and we're painting it "triple black". It's going to look mean. JKL I appreciate the emails, this is something I'm going to be picking up next week/the week after the latest, so I should be the first? :leaving: lol I wish I could have waited a little longer, but certain things came up that made the car needing to get finished asap.

As far as it needing a little more body work that's completely fine, I'm going for a show car look so the lines with be scrutinized thoroughly. I totally agree CarbonFD they are duing a great service to us FD owners that have been drooling over this kit for years. :drool5:

JKL as far as "the other people" I'm going to check what material is being used, your guys product sounds like what I'm looking for. :icon_tup:

Hey Kevin,

I guess I'm going to wait the 5 weeks to get a kit I won't have to do any work on. I do have some questions however:

+When do we find out our savings on early deposits?
+Are the pieces coming primerd already?
+Do you guys accept any other form of payment? I'd not like to waist a hundred and some odd dollars on paypal fees when I can send you guys a check and wait for it to clear.

This is what I'm looking for, I don't need the extra lil canards and stuff right now.
Front and Rear Fenders, Side Steps, Front bumper, CF Undersweep, CF Hood.
What would grand total be on that since there's not a package price for it.

Hey Kevin,

Its going to be more than 5 weeks...5 weeks is more when the first samples get here that will be test fitted to see what needs to be modified in the molds so that no further work will need to be done on them...Dont know how long it will be untill those ones are done.

Anyone know what wheel sizes we can run with this kit yet?
I was thinking 18x10 front and 11 rear.

CarbonFD

Im running 18x10 in the tront +35 offset and in the rear im running 18x10.5 with a +15 offset... I could fit more in the back with the right off set but they don't make my rims any wider than that. I went for weight instead of size my rims are only 18lbs at that size.

Update:

Right now, the factory is finishing up the last couple molds and starting the production on the sample parts. Since some customers have mentioned that they prefer the front fenders with the gaps, here is the current status. Our mold does not have the gap yet since the original RE-A kit does not have the gap. The factory will need at least 15-20 days to modify the mold to obtain the gap. What I mean by modify is they will have to produce a set of sampling fenders with the current mold then modify the sampling fenders to obtain the gaps then make another set of molds out of the newly modified fenders. This is to ensure the quality of the modification.

So we would like to get some opinions from our customers and see if you guys still want the gap. If so, then the whole process will have to be delayed by at least 15-20 days.

Please let us know what everyone thinks! Thanks!

CarbonFD

I dont think after waiting for so long 15-20 days is very much to ensure the quality of the product and it is to the exact liking of each buyer. I have a question though... Once they do that will they have to make a new mold? So in reality you could choose if you wanted gapped of un-gapped?

Chris

JKL Racing Engineering
07-20-2008, 11:53 AM
yes, that way there will be two options. But we prefer to only supply the un-gapped original version if not majority of the people want the gapped version. It's because the time, work, and cost. Since the fenders come in pair, we will have to produce two new molds instead of just one. So the cost of the two new molds will have to be covered somehow so that will affect the amount of additional discount we can offer as we promised. Again, it's all up to you guys.

We probably won't have time to go down there this year but we will see if we could find some people to represent us there with some of our products on their cars. We still don't know for sure as of now. We would really like to show up if we can make it. :)

If you are going, maybe you can help us promote our products as well? :D

Overall fitment is very good... Gaps front the fedners to the hood are good as well as fenders to hood... In the picture the bumper to hood looks a bit off but thats becasue I have not mounted the center section yet... Everything went one pretty easy nothing really gave me any problems minus the rear which is a pian becasue you have to take off the rear bumper...

Forgot about you guys that can't see the other fourms.
Here are my pics.

Sorry it took so long for me to get pictures. Let me know if there are any questions.

Kevin my carbon fiber fender add-ons will not work for me. The way it was molded seems that the edges aren't at a 90 degree angles, making it look extremely bad when mounted. I'm hoping that I can send the ones I have back to you, and maybe get some new ones made.

I think that if you made the top part of them another .5 - 1 inch higher than I can modify them myself to fit properly. I think over all that would work better for the final production...... because all these parts are going to fit differently on everyone's car. They aren't identical.

Also, if it's up to you buy I think you should make the molds thicker. Right now they can't be sanded down to get rid of bumps without going all the way though.

I think that the fenders would line up just fine without having to adjust the door and the hood except that the seam on the frame of the car (inside the engine bay) where the fender sits on top of makes it so you can put it down all the way. Maybe RE-Amemiya shaved this part off? I just refuse to cut anything off the car, so this will be adjusted.

Hi, Kevin. I am also interested in the AD-GT Full Package Basic (FRP).
My question is since you don't tend to make the 02 version bumper, I would like to get a carbon fiber front bumper and paint the top will end like the 02
one. How much more will be add to the Package if I want to do that?

front bumper not the carbon fiber. What is the time frame of this one?
I have participe other group. It takes me six month and I still haven't received

Thank you.

Kevin, I got your voicemail. Sorry I missed your calls. My dumb "smart phone" didn't say anything about having missed calls. Thanks for taking the time to look up that stuff for me. I found a guy here in sac that does it as well. Actually, meeting up with him this morning.

We're going to pull the rear quarters as well + add the rear fender flares. Shooting for some 18x12 wheels with some 315 tires in the rear, but i doubt it. We'll see. :cheers2:

BTW, the new logo design looks sweet.

no biggie, that's great you found the guy local to you otherwise you'll have to come down to us :D

You gotta get us some pics when your car is done, can't wait to see it, especially if you get that mean setup in the rear :)

The logo and decals are designed and made by xlr8planet from this forum and he definitely did a great job. We will hopefully get him to design more larger decals and banners for us in the future.
