The 2010 Pigeon Forge Grand Rod Run is the same weekend as DGRRX, as it was last year. I made the mistake of coming down thru Pigeon Forge from Knoxville last year, and probably lost at least half an hour CRAWLING thru the traffic jam. This was on Thursday, mind you, before everyone was likely there. So, if you can, plan another route, or plan on being patient.

Thanks for the heads up. Last year it came down to a coin toss as to which way we would come down from Knoxville. This year, the wife wants to take the "other" route, so this is very helpful information. :)

Does the rock slide on I-40 affect any of you coming from TN? Not sure if it would be thought you should know.

Pigeon Forge traffic SUCKS even on a regular day. I can't imagine it with an event going on!

My wife HATES Pigeon Forge, it is ridiculously commercialized. Whenever we go to the Smokies we cut through the park to Gatlinburg. It's commercial, but at least it's well designed and well put together.
